I want to make images of stuff look like they are made of gold.

how you do that?
Hit Command+U, or Ctrl+U if you are on a PC, to open up the Hue & Saturation controls. Select the Colorize option, tweak the colors, and off you go!
Guide how to make it:
1. Make a layer of the image you want to make look like it's made of gold
2. Make a new layer on top of it and fill it with gold color
3. Go to filters -> noise -> add noise and use these settings (or what ever settings you like more; maybe more noise would be better than what I used)
4. Duplicate the gun layer and move it on top of everything and hide it
5. Hold alt and click between (arrow) the bottom gun layer and gold layer then it looks like this
6. Now change the top gun layer opacity to something around 73% and change the layer style to linear light or bright light (usually better), depending on the pic
And the result should look like this

damn, i got beaten to it
I would make a new color layer and make it overlay and desautize the gun picture.
Couldn't you just use a filter with the right color, like enamel..
Holy crap guys...you *could* just use Hue & Saturation...exactly the same effect with Colorize turned on...
That Fin stuff seems like a fun language.
