I'm sure this has been posted a million times, but I HATE EA!! I have spent the last 2 days on the phone with tech support over AF not installing correctly ( will not install Operation Harvest). I have been hung up on 5 times ( sorry sir, we are having problems with the phone system- can't debug their own phones). Every time I call back , I have to talk to someone new, give them all my info over, and wait ten minutes while they read the notes, and ask me the same questions the last tech did. I have been told to manually unistall all my games, and EA downloader and then re-install everything including the patch 6 times! This got old after the third or fourth re-install. It also doesn't help that their tech support line goes to India (possibly Pakistan), since not one of the techs was a native english speaker, which made the whole experience that much more fun. I finally gave up when the last tech was telling me how to unistall my BF2 ( I am an expert uninstaller now) once again. I told her to forget it, and requested the phone number for a refund for AF and EuroForce ( which was wiped out during the unistalls and now won't install correctly either). I guess I'm stuck in Karkand till I get totally burnt out and go to another game. Anyone else had this much hassle from EA?

man that blows. i refuse to even buy AF or EF or SF for that matter because i will not give EA any more of my money. now i realize that this isnt going to hurt them in the least. 10, 20, or $30 isnt anything to them, but its still the priciple that my money will not go to them.
Update- I still hate EA but was able to fix the problems on my own. Once I totally ignored their advice, it was alot easier. Just curious, but what is the +/- Karma thing about? I have negative 1 Karma after posting this topic.

Hey I'll give ya +1 Karma just for dealing with their shit. I know tech support is a torture best known to Iraqi Insurgents. >.>
its supposed to be given or taken away by other forum users depending if they liked or disliked your posts. It doesn't do anything at the moment. but unfortunately, people will -karma if they don't like everything about the post (one guy got negative for editing his post). also, a lot of people will give you negative but wont leave their names and using the anonymousness of the Internet to make them selves feel good.gun.KingRat wrote:

i tend to ignore it. if i got positive then yay, if i get negative, then who cares.

Instead of uninstalling again, I just kept deleting the EA downloader cache and then redownloading and installing AF till it worked basically. Nothing fancy, but it got me in the game....which rocks!!! I love the new maps, lots of fun.JON.ANTONSSON wrote:

Troubleshooting a telephone line is a completely different issue than troubleshooting a game. Normally games can give error messages. You don't get an error message when something is wrong with a phone. All you know is, calls start dropping or they won't go through. There is alot of crap to check before you can fix it. You have to make sure it's not the handset, then the cord to the phone, then the jack, all the way back to the phone company. And then, if it's the phone companies problem, you have to wait on them to fix it.( sorry sir, we are having problems with the phone system- can't debug their own phones)
Go work Tech Support and deal with all the idiots calling in who don't know what a CD key is, or what a patch is, or how to change the brightness on their monitor. The one's being punished are not you, it's those working on the other end of the phone.
