i never said it was objective. i said no news source is objective. objectivity is a fantastical concept, especially when it comes to forms of history/reportage. there is no single 'truth' to an event, so it follows - especially with commercial interests - that there will be no 'neutral' observer or 'objective' fact.
with that said, i really don't see how the bbc news is violated by jimmy savile. the producers and channel bosses who decide what tv exposés go out have nothing to do with the news-team or journalists working in that side of things. same 'management', sure, but since when did the management write news or do research?
