L4D2 is way better than some Star Trek crap.
Way cheaper too.
Way cheaper too.

so that's an excuse for not finishing their fucking game? developer timidity? are you shitting me? they should know what they're fucking doing with their own game.Spidery_Yoda wrote:
Well one thing to keep in mind is just how much damage can be done with a misjudged Soldier or Demoman update.

At least they are actively updating the game with new things though. I'm sure they will finish with the class updates. Sure they could have been quicker maybe but it's better that they take longer and balance it from the start.
What other developer puts this much time and effort into patches after the game has been out this long?
don't fuck with me dauntless IW is jesus.Dauntless wrote:

All I was saying was don't be suprised if you were much happier before the Soldier or Demoman updates if they are done poorly. I'm sure most people feel that way about the Scout Update.Uzique wrote:

"we would add an ending to the new call of duty: modern warfare 2, but the responsibility and task of finishing the game satisfactorily proved too much of a burden. please enjoy the unfinished content".

You will never find me linking to CAD to prove a point. Ever.DefCon-17 wrote:

I still haven't heard one good reason from anyone why L4D2 is worth that much.
They usually link me to that stupid comic about sports games that doesn't apply to me anyways.
I suppose that analogy makes sense, but that still doesn't justify paying $50 for it.Ty wrote:

To be honest I think it's kind of like beer. Sure you've been happy to drink that $10 a dozen cheap piss you've been drinking all your life and you're happy about it. Then someone like me comes along to give you some really good beers and tells you to drink it out of a glass rather than a bottle you philistine and you do and say "So what's the big deal? It's just beer."
THEN you go back to drinking your cheap piss and think "urgh, this is awful". You notice the difernce when you go back to what you're used to. Kind of. That analogy worked slightly better in my head.
Not saying that L4D is awful but it is not as good as L4D2, (at least from what the Demo shows,) and you only really get that by playing a bit of L4D2. I could say that the graphics are better, the gore effects are better, the AI Director has new toys, the new characters are good, the new SI are all well created, the new weapons are varied and fun, the melee combat is surprisingly fun and effective, the level design is good etc. etc. etc. but that amounts to nothing because you're still left with a sense of "So why is it any better/different than L4D1?"
DefCon I'll give you my Steam login once the game comes out so you can play it. It's really the only way to "get" L4D2. Whether you like it or not and whether your opinion changes or doesn't at least you'll be informed.
