And repurposes them into console game developers. Microsoft makes computers too, it's what they're best at, they'd support the PC gaming industry if they thought there was money to be made.Miggle wrote:

how would MS make more money from gaming in Windows sales than 360 sales?S.Lythberg wrote:

360s cost more than windows
Microsoft makes 360 replacement hardware and controllers
Microsoft sells live
Most "gamers" already have windows
If microsoft wants to make money off gaming, it's a lot easier for them to do it by making the 360 control the market.
This. Because every dev then has to pay microsoft the rights to make a game for the system.Miggle wrote:

They'd keep both, PC's would get console ports, but there'd also be dedicated PC games, there's things a PC can do that consoles can't, but developers are weary of making PC only games because of the PC gaming community.Miggle wrote:

why would devs make pc exclusives when they make more money by putting it on 360.S.Lythberg wrote:

Economically it's stupid to make a good game.
Beyond Good and Evil, Psychonauts and various other games prove this.Miggle wrote:

Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
For optimum performance!
You can set up a dedicated server... On your machine lulz.
Here's some COOP gameplay from last night with my clan mates.
We did 4 mission, it goes up to 15 videos. I've got 4 made and 2 uploaded. So here's the two uploaded.
Keep in mind you can't hear me talking on TS.

I nearly threw my controller at my TV when playing Powder Trail.
My entire fireteam got killed by the WZ-10 and I took the AA postion on my own. I stormed the village and got to the pilots. the EVAC point was arcoss a large open field. The pilots were on my ass, then as Dagger One told me that the chopper was 2 minutes out, the AI just stopped. They saw an APC and decided it would be a good idea to shoot at it with their MP5s. Both of them got killed and the mission failed. Whats worse was that I was on hardcore and I had to restart the mission.
FUUUUUUU-

It's partly true actually. Also the fact that consoles are just simply more popular these days than PC's plays a role. You can't deny that. The reason for that popularity shouldn't really need to be explained.
I don't know why people are still surprised in this day and age that for multiplat games the console is given priority over the PC. Complain how you want it's just how shit is.
You can continue to live in denial and just think that they're out to screw you because they hate you if you want.

"The PC gamers pirated, hacked, and bitched the developers right out of the market, and now they pirate, hack, and bitch to try and stop it "
that is soo damn true. imagine you as a videogame programmer who has spent months and years making a game so you can pay the bills only for some shithead hacker to pirate the game for free. that goes the same for pirated movies. but to me there is more regulation for pirated movies than pirated games
i think competative MP gameplay is going to dwindle in the next few years. not worth it to build your talents and skills in an online game only for your hardwork to be completely undone with some shithead aimbotter.

Piracy is an excuse, it's not like it's anything new, and it's prevalent on the 360 as well. Devs merely use it as an excuse to go multiplatform because MS pays them to. You don't see movies only out in theatres because DVD piracy is so bad, but you would if a theatre company paid them enough to.
meh...i got a console because of all the hacks on PC. made games unplayable.

I hit that point a few years ago when I got sick of CS hackers, so I switched to console had a blast playing sports, racing and other types of games. The problem is, once you've spent a good deal of time playing FPS's on PC, you will never have as much fun doing so on a console (at least until they come up with a better control scheme than today's controllers).Red Forman wrote:
