So true. Put a Belgian F-16 pilot behind the stick of a Eurofighter and put him up against a WWII Messerschmitt.
The German oldtimer will probably win.

They are hard to compare,
Eurofighter is for defense, the F22 more for attacks
EF is high maneuverable but has no stealth ability, F22 has the best stealth technology

Szenario 1: EF doesent spot the F22: F22 should win, u cant fight an enemy u dont see

Szenario 2: EF spots F22: EF should win cause it would fly circles around the F22

Problem for the US and its stealth technology is that it is possible to "disable" stealth, by using many radar stations (for example mobile radar in triangle saw a F117 Nighthawk in Kosovo conflict and it got shot) and other new methods (using electromagnetic radiation, this radiation is everywhere, for examble caused by mobile phones....., and u can see airplanes by scanning this radiation, cant explain that in english and its also a technology which is not available now, dont know exactly but heard about it).

General Townes will just power up his star-shaped laser grid and own all the other Generals and their silly air power.

The F-22 can do every mission. The FB-22 will own at bombing.

The F-22 has supercruise while the Eurofighter has limited supercruise.

The F-22 has stealth while the Eurofighter has limited stealth.

The F-22 is built mainly for air superiority while the Eurofighter is multi-role. Basically, the Eurofighter will be shot out of the skies. Sorry.

I don't think this will matter, unless the US turns on Europe in a big way (which I doubt). We should be comparing it to things like the SU-34 etc.

u gotta be kidding me...

the belgian f16 pilot would win, why? hes a lot faster and the old ww2 messerschmitt would lose since it cannot keep up... 1 missile lock and the old timer is dead

well, there you go. So I'd say development for both aircrafts began at about the same time, give or take a year or so.

Obviously, both aircraft were designed with different design philosophies and with regard to different tactical requirements / roles, so I'd still say a comparison doesn't make much sense. With the stealth technology and supercruise the F-22 looks to be more advanced from a technological POV, but I guess both aircraft will perform well according to their tactical requirements.

The comparison to the Nascar and F1 cars is quite good in that regard. Both are great cars, simply built for different racing environments.

You are SERIOUSLY overestimating the competence and ability of our fighter pilots. They get themselves killed quite frequently without any hostile air, land or naval forces in range.

The mere psychological pressure of an airborne enemy presence will make them smack into the ground.

Actually the eurofighter was designed for air to air combat, and is probably the best in the world, its never been tested but i reackon its gonna be nuber 1 in the skies.

The Belgian Military Air Force component probably has some WWII propeller planes in reserve, in case all F16s have crashed.

Here is some more information on the F-22
www.f-22raptor.com

And a comparison of various aircraft versus an upgraded Su-27 (read Su-35)
http://www.eurofighter-typhoon.co.uk/Eu … r/tech.php

So, according to the British government, the F/A-22 is the best air-to-air platform.  The EF-2000 ranks second, blowing all others (except the F/A-22) out of the water.

I would be happy to fly either, but I would prefer the F/A-22

Last I heard?

EF-2000 - 60-80 million dollars
F-22 - 200 million dollars

Even a F-22 can have a bad day. Here are images of the F-22 in the gunsights of a F/A-18F during simulated combat.

http://www.strategypage.com/messageboar … -33303.asp

Generally, the F-22 is extremely difficult to shoot down and is probably the most formidable air-to-air platform in the world today.
