Imageshack is the shittest media host on the planet. Tinypic, imgir and other are so much better.

If you want to start out as a webdeveloper, w3schools and Tizag are both good places to start, but otherwise, they aren't advanced enough for developers to come back to on a regular basis.

PHPManual I guess can be useful. Don't ever see myself translating text with google or using those web tools.

Two most useful tools for those who don't have validators in their text-editors/IDEs
http://validator.w3.org/
http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/

I jump from text-editor to IDE all the time. From Aptana to KomodoEdit, to Dreamweaver. Just don't see myself staying still because nothing ever pleases me enough to stay with it for a while. Although, right this moment I have designed my perfect work environment in Dreamweaver:

A-fucking-greed. Imageshack is fucking shit. I personally just use my own hosting for hosting images or files for web dev.

I find myself looking at w3schools or php.net occasionally as a reference. PHP tends to have very fucking inconsistent function parameters, so for functions I don't use often I sometimes forget their order or such. And I use w3schools for reference for things like HTML entities and such.

Also, that's a sexy color theme.

EDIT: And while we're at it, I'll list some useful Firefox addons for web developers:
Web Developer Toolbar
Firebug
Add N Edit Cookies
Dummy Lipsum
FireFTP
Hackbar
IE Tab
Tamper Data
Total Validator

Those are among the many addons that I use.

I can't stand YUI. It's heavy and overloaded. Much prefer jQuery.

No. It's not a textmate theme, it's not even a copy of a textmate theme. I just came up with colours and experimented in the settings of Dreamweaver to come up with that.

Preferences -> Code Coloring -> Edit Coloring Scheme.

Did that for PHP, HTML, CSS and Javascript. And voila, result.

Oh, and I changed the font to Consolas 11pt.

And notepad++ is a text editor, it's not an IDE. It's also not even close to the power and versatility of other editors such as UltraEdit, E-edit, Intype, Slickedit and Komodo Edit.

I hate Notepad++, and whoever claims Dreamweaver is for beginners writing out code and Notepad++ and the sort is for pros, is an absolute moron.

While I don't think that, I do prefer a regular text editor over Dreamweaver or other IDE's. I've tried DW, Aptana, Komodo etc and I just don't really like them. I use EditPlus 3. Short, simple, not overloaded with junk.

Also, I think people should learn to code from a regular text editor (at least HTML/CSS) before using a visual editor like DW.

Well I do a wide range of projects and in many cases its proven very useful. This bloat you speak of is relative to the project, like anything there are trade offs but I've not seen it perform horribly (yet). I try not to get emotional or create mantras over technologies

I'm sorry let me clarify. I did not mean to imply that you use TextMate, or  a theme literally named "TextMate" rather that theme you use looks very much like a theme you would see in TextMate. Lots of IDEs have variations on this theme.

There are some debugging tools that hook into Firebug, and other related debugging tools. I've never used any though.

Then of course there are IDE's like Aptana.

Sorry snipy, I came across a bit angry there.

I've just always found jQuery more useful for projects. If frameworks and libraries like YUI and jQuery could be cross compatible, I would be a really happy bunny. Sadly, they never are, so I tend to go for jQuery simply because of the mass support that is out there for it.

Tortoise SVN is good.

CraZeD, yeah, everyone has a very different opinion to Text Editors and IDEs. The ONLY reason I use Dreamweaver over KomodoEdit or SlickEdit is because of how easy it was to change the colour scheme to something I liked. KomodoEdit failed at detecting part HTML in a PHP file and CSS in an HTML file (which I found kinda pathetic) and SlickEdit had so many options I didn't know where to start. I would do anything to have the colour scheme options of Dreamweaver in a Windows Text Editor. Sadly, this isn't so. I never touch any of Dreamweavers utilities or tools. I only use it because I like my scheme.

Yeah, the code aspect of DW is pretty good. I stopped using it because I didn't like the way it tried to predict what I wanted to type. I'd always have to backspace and fix it because it autocompleted incorrectly. I'm sure there are ways to tweak that and such, but I can't be arsed to figure out how.

So, I just use my plain old boring text editor.

By the way, I envy your patience...hehe. I tried to do a similar theme for EditPlus once and gave up eventually. Too damn many colors!

If you're on a Mac, go with Textmate. Coda is also a good editor. Git over SVN for version control.

Selenium - Selenium is a suite of tools to automate web app testing across many platforms.

I haven't actually personally used this tool yet, but our QA guys at work are starting to use it and I'm sure I'll be on the receiving end of it soon enough.  What I've seen has been impressive though - especially for regression testing.
