You show this perfect render of a car, pure realism, and then negate to have damage on the fucking game? Bullshit.
It's meant to be a hardcore racing game, with beautiful graphics, realistic cars and lovely driving.... yet it has no damage factor in it? Fuck that.
We are in the 21st century of gaming, FPS games are starting to have destructible buildings and car games have had destructible cars for over 4 years now, yet GT5 thinks its above the rest and doesn't have it.
I would buy the game if they had not taken the Ferrari licence but added in damage. What a terrible terrible move.

You can take out whatever you want from a game if what you put back in will make it better.
EVERY (or close to) single GT fan in this world has been raging at Kazunori Yamauchi and telling him to pull his hand out of his ass and get damage on cars ( I need not quote, just search on Google ). Yet he doesn't do it? I call failure.

If this game doesn't have damage, I'll be massively dissapointed.
If content filtering would allow me to see what this thread is about i would comment, alas, i can't. Anyway, i never liked the GT series.

Sif have damage in a GT game, its a simulation, and of course it wasn't real without it, but it was fun knowing that you can crash and not give a dam about your wheel well imploding.
there should be a simulation mode and a real, damage mode.
Simulation mode (damage, realistic handling etc) and Arcade mode (like GRiD, burnout, NFS without damage - I don't care, arcade is shit anyway), if anything...
I prefer Forza 2

I haven't played Forza 2 yet...hell, the only racing game I own right now is Burnout Paradise for the PS3.
i mean with a career mode choice of everything as realistic as possible, without damage, and the ladder, WITH damage.Jenspm wrote:

Forza 2's ok, but it just takes forever to get anything good. I do like the customization on it though.

They have always probably had the top of the line graphics for any game. Glad to see they still live up to their expectations. You know, considering the graphics and physics engine that they put into the Gran Turismo series, it's hard to believe that other game companies put much effort into games of their own.
Well, Mek said it, these guys do things in the perfect way or they don't do them. Maybe they don't consider the car damage achieved to be perfect. So, you won't have car damage.Zimmer wrote:

if it's for harcore gamers are you gonna try to crash on purpose?
never in a racing car game i wanted to crash on the wall on purpose, not even with grid.
When a car hits me or clips me in the back whilst racing, I want to see a dent there or a loss of a bumper. When my car flips over whilst I am doing rally, I want to see dents or a broken window. When my car accidentally skids off the road and hits the wall, I want to see that take effect.
I don't want to see a shiny gleaming and unreal car that's invincible when I am racing. That was why GTAIV was so incredible. The car destruction was near perfect in it.
Now, would you rather go hit the wall and see the incredible crash which destroys your car and your race which will make you furious or hit the wall and then get back to the race?
Going to skip most of the thread and get to the point thats in my head just now (cos i was just reading and this came to me).
Forza 2 had Ferarri damage did it not?
I have to agree with Jens. After playing Forza 2 for many many many many hours, and then playing GT4 on my friends PS2, GT4 was just laughable. You can bounce off walls at 100mph and just carry on as if nothing happened. There's no penalty for bad driving. Try bumping another car off the track on Forza 2 and you'll regret it.

Why not just put in epic arcade-style handling so you don't need to break? Would make life so much easier.aerodynamic wrote:

And your point isn't really valid - I'm pretty sure damage is on, even though damage graphics aren't? Or is my GT4 memory not working... In any case, you can cheat your way through and turn damage off if you want that.
Playing online without damage is a joke. The best way to win is to ram the others off the track - take a look at Forza 2 at CGS (youtube Forza 2 CGS). Pathetic.
@Spidery_Yoda: Yes, Forza 2 has Ferraris and damage, which is why I think GT5 will have damage.
I hate that. Crashes are inevitable, and it's not like I wouldn't buy a Ferrari just because it doesn't look as good when it's all smashed up.sergeriver wrote:
