exactly, are there really any more features on XBL than PSN?

what makes it worth the $50? I'd love to know.

Best online experience?
I'd say PS3, free online + blueray FTW.

But how much modding on PS3? At least on the xbox you can play downloaded games...
I guess if you call installing a HD (which is cool) modding, I don't consider it modding though since its a feature...

I would say when thinking about price make sure to consider all the extras too, Wireless access, wireless controllers, HD size, and online play...

Never done the comparative shopping but I think when you spec out an xbox with all those things your pretty close to PS3 price... and then Blue Ray and reliability pushes it over the edge.

More people tbh.
With more people of course you get more retards, but there are more games going for virtually any game you want to play.
In my school we're all Xbots, you're pretty much alienated if you have a PS3.
I would much rather have Gears of War online than Warhawk.

that wasn't a PS3 argument, the only difference is that PSN is free, neither of them has anything on PC.

Touché.
But if you break it down $60 for 13 months isn't that much.
If you buy the 60GB Console for $199 (Futureshop had a sale this weekend)
You can buy 2 12+1 Month cards and still break even with the price of a PS3.

I plan on having my PS3 for more then 2 years, Are you compairing that with the price of an 80 gig PS3?

Does the 60 gig have wireless internet or do you need to buy the xbox adapter?

If the price is the same after a time as short as 2 years, isn't it worth going with the one with blue ray?

well if the 60gb isn't on sale it's $300

so even if you get your xbl on newegg you're still not getting as good of a deal as the PS3.

Ok guys.

PS3:

Free Online, Service really isn't that much different from XBL Live which costs
Wireless built in, X360 needs an adaptor for that.
Blu Ray Drive (probably the best point)
Has a web browser
Basically it has good all round media capabilities
More reliable
Probably is gaining the upper hand when it comes to games now (this is the part where I regret coming in only wearing boxers)

HOWEVER:

If you just want a console to play games on, and don't care about online/media capabilities and all that shit. The X360 Arcade is awesome for that. It's just the console that plays the games and none of the other BS. No frills gaming. Does what it says on the tin etc..

So, conclusion. The PS3 is a wise investment that can be a fucking handy piece of equiptment. The X360, get the Arcade version for dirt cheap if all you want to do is play the latest games that are coming out on the consoles and none of the other shit.

X-BOX 360 - no butts about it. X-box live is better and will stay better that anything Sony will ever come up with.

http://www.clan-themes.co.uk/article166 … aming.html

Being a video game developer (I develop for both, Playstation 3 and XBOX 360) people ask me almost daily which platform I think is better. These are my personal feelings, in no way does this reflect my employer.

Short answer: XBOX 360.

Long answer: Price, performance, visual quality, game selection and online support. I think the XBOX 360 wins in every category.

Price: This is obvious; the XBOX 360 core is only $299. The PS3 is around $499 for the 20GB version. It comes with a hard drive, but you don’t need a hard drive to enjoy a lot of great games on the 360 so I think it’s fair to compare both core systems.

Performance: On paper, the PS3 is more powerful. In reality, it’s quite inferior to the 360. Without getting into too many details, the three general-purpose CPU’s the xbox360 has are currently FAR easier to take advantage of than the SPU’s on the PS3. I suspect a few years down the road some high budget, first party PS3 exclusive titles will come out that really take advantage of the SPU’s and do things the XBOX 360 can’t, but I don’t think the console is worth buying based on this speculation (for some it will be though, we'll have to wait and see how these games turn out).

?

The specs of the Arcade are exactly the same as the one in the Elite, except for the fact that it doesn't have a hard drive, doesn't come with wireless controllers and doesn't have any of that other fancy stuff either. Otherwise the internals are the same.

Honestly there is no difference between XBL and the PSN. Except the PSN is free. Otherwise I've never noticed any difference.

That, plus you can get a HDD very cheap with the NXE upgrade system MS has going on.

And the Arcade/Pro/Elite all have the same internals. Jester chipset is the most recent (with almost no RRoD's).

Not gonna lie, my 360 lags anytime I do anything involving more than one car and one person in GTA IV.
Right now the exclusives for PS3 aren't enough to convince me to buy one, but the Blu Ray player is leaning me towards getting it as a Christmas gift for my dad.
PS3 Has better Hardware (FACT)
360 Has a better Online COMMUNITY (Debatable)
I am fairly sure Xbox360 has about 12 Million users.
PSN has around 9.8 Million.
EDIT: Sorry screwed up a major number there.
