I'm sure all of you know about this already, but I've got a question for those who have done it (or at least know more details about it).
Do you have to have a fully-functional RB1 disc to do this?
The reason I ask is that a friend's roommate has both RB1 and RB2, but we can't play much on RB1 because there's a fatty scratch/ring on the disc, so sometimes we'll be able to play a song, sometimes the menus don't work, etc. Does the XBox rip the songs from the original onto the HDD or do you just download them? Oh yeah, that reminds me, they never play 360 online, and don't have an XBox live account, so do you have to pay for a month or year or whatever it is just to transfer the songs?
