I have to be in school at that time
And how does one become "Part of an announcement"...?
But yeah, I'm still trying to get over the fact that none of my CS2 books apply anymore cuz they totally changed the interface with CS3
But I must say, CS3 brought many welcome features to Dreamweaver(Synchronization, FUCK YEAH!) so I'm hopin for more in CS4.
P.S. Anyone else feel that CS4 doesn't have the same "ring" to it as CS3...?

No, you'll half to buy the "Upgrade" package, which is half the price.Aapje wrote:
Wait... I bought the CS3 Package so this will mean that I'll need to buy the complete CS4 package if I wanted to upgrade?
I've heard that CS4 isn't much different than CS3... will be interesting to see...
I love CS3 though...
ouch... mac's being left in the cold... who would have ever thought this would happen...adobe and mac were the way to go a few years ago...?

Love is the answer
It's supposed to be performance enhancements. I had a tough time leaving the comfort of cs2 tbh. I quickly got over that..lol. I actually took one of Deke's courses long.. long ago.

CS2 is the way to go.
You can see some of the features towards the end of this video

Is CS4 easier to use?
The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.
It looks like they added some cool features to speed up productivity. For example you can drag to resize your brush now.War Man wrote:

In a weird kind of way, I think CS3 sounds better.
Like it rolls off your tongue easier
Compared to CS4 of course.

It's funny how Photoshop let down their Mac users. They were basically like bread and butter.
Content-aware scaling is pretty cool. I like the new tabbed interface also.

I'm running the trial now.
It takes a little bit of getting used to. But right now I'm Loyd Christmas and PS is Mary Swanson.
Btw Deke has got a cool little halloween treat out there this month if you are interested.

According to PC Pro reviews of it. It loses accessibility for more options. Thus making it harder to use.Kmarion wrote:

Not according to my review..lol. It may be a little harder.. but the enhancements pay dividends in return. I think we are always reluctant to switch to something that we are comfortable with. Try it for a couple weeks. I'm betting once you get used to the relocation you will like it. The dodge and burn tools are much better. I like the save screen as well..Zimmer wrote:

It's a lot of minor things and a few major.
Here is a quick run down of a few:

You've got to get in and look around to see everything.

they never really seem to dramatically change anything different other than change the interface and version name ever since version 7.
It's been too successful for them to dramatically change it. But there are a bunch of new feature beyond the interface. Click and drag brush resizing.. click and drag adjustments, it's faster.. tabs! (I'm just going to add a couple cool things in every reply)

Ok.. sold. I will be buying it.

Yes I did.. I will only need to get the upgrade. The first and most obvious is the improved interface. It's nothing spectacular on it's own but it will help with my productivity. The program itself performs faster. When searching for an image file I noticed I didn't have that typical lag that I had with CS3 (on the same exact system). Photomerge is drastically improved also, that will help me a lot when shooting landscapes. I do that a lot in my line of work. There are a lot of little improvements, some of which I have mentioned recently. Rather than type them out see here. Enough to push me over the edge of buying.. it will of course be a tax write off anyways . If you use photoshop for the casual sig design or logo then I'd say it's not worth it. I use it almost everyday for work though..Sup wrote:

Try it for a week. See what you think.

never used CS3 instead of PS7, never really had a use for it (just me personally). don't think i'll use CS4 either.
