90s to present. I love electronic music

But for rock, definitely 60s and 70s. <3 Pink Floyd

For me, 90's- present.

And I'm in before some guy who wants to pretend he's into classical music or some weird type of Egyptian music and wants the poll to be changed just to be difficult and cool.

I'm rocking out to some Johann Sebastian Bach as we speak (err type).

Good study music (final tomorrow)... but I'm finding it difficult to stay awake.

90s to present. The simple fact being that this time period includes all time periods before it and thus all the music.

LOGIC BOMB!

Best example was a tank discussion thread out of BF2.

About 2 pages of discussion, then some guy comes in and says "Why isn't Euro tank on there? That's my favourite!"

Obviously bullshitting, no one likes that tank, it's ugly, it moves like a truck, it has a terribly placed fireballer and fails. Yet this guy felt the need to just post, to try and prove the world is wrong and for someone to look at his post and go "Wow, he's clever."

That was very off topic, but anyway --

I love some early music, Hendrix was amazing but still present day music, as I'm only young and don't listen to older stuff.

the fact that you think it is ugly doesn't make the world think it is ugly

also ugly music can be not ugly in some ways.

1990's
I realise that. My logic bomb argues that in say, 1991, I can listen to Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and if I so choose "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd as well which was released in 1979. However if I was to choose "70's and 80's" I could indeed listen to "Comfortably Numb" but not "Smells Like Teen Spirit" as it hadn't been written yet.

90's

For Rap, and Dance maybe metal aswell

80's for Ska and Reggae

However most of the very best songs were written before this

1998 I was in Ibiza and the fortnight changed me forever but unfortunatly imo dance music peaked then.  I did the last of my naughty drugs in Es'Paradise dancing with Madonna, I don't go there to see her, she must of known I was going, but joking aside, I couldn't top that as a 22 year old lad.

Its where my "Sand Flicking" incident happened aswell.

Sounds good man. Never been a big fan of the rave scene. Like my Prodigy and Pendulum though.

However, the question is in regards to the best decade for music. Now in the present, we are focusing on music that has been released within the last 10 years and it's what's in the mainstream and what everybody's recognizing and awarding; what the radio and club DJs are playing and what artists are releasing. It's 2008 and no one is going ape shit over a Pink Floyd album that came out nearly 30 years ago.

Etta (sp) Fitzgerald and Nina Simone, very very good but a little later than this.
