I realise that. My logic bomb argues that in say, 1991, I can listen to Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and if I so choose "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd as well which was released in 1979. However, the question is in regards to the best decade for music. Now in the present, we are focusing on music that has been released within the last 10 years and it's what's in the mainstream and what everybody's recognizing and awarding; what the radio and club DJs are playing and what artists are releasing.
