I downloaded and tried to install POE2 for the THIRD TIME NOW!!!! and I always get stupid ass errors

my latest error File Corrupted

I downloaded from the Hypernia site, zipped folder

tried to open/extract but couldnt because the File was Corrupted

I want to play this mod ffs but I cant because of these errors I get and every ERROR is DIFFERENT

This is what I did, step for step, went to poe.com, clicked the V1.0.0 Client started the download, selected the "Open With" on Mozilla Firefox download options dialogue box, waited for the download (1hour - my internet is faster mind you) the download finished and I tried to run it and I then got the File Corrupted error

so, sup? lol

Try the option save as instead of open when you start downloading

Since the file is Zipped, should I open it with winRAR or Winzip or anything?

I used WinRAR, and FF fucks up downloads a lot (forgets to complete the file at the end). try Dlin with IE or summin.

Maybe its just that one of your main datas that you need to install it arent there

like you need DirectX to play if you wouldnt have it, you cant play.

Okay I downloaded a 5th time and it didn't work with WinRAR, Winzip, so I give up, regular BF is meant for me

did you unzip the map pack, its not ment to be unziped, installer unzips it itself on install

Im sure I know what to do with Zipped files, Unzip them, which is why I asked what to use, WinRAR or Winzip

and no I didnt try to unzip the mappack, all I did was download the zipped folder to my desktop, tried to run it with WinRAR the first 4 times, then Winzip the 5th time, I couldnt even get the INSTALLER to RUN, I'd try to unzip the files BUT the zipped folder poe2_1.0.0.zip WOULDNT even open, I got warnings from both WinRAR and Winzip that the compressed zipped folder was "Damaged or Corrupt"

I downloaded the 1.06GB file from BF2S.com, Hypernia and Filecloud.com and I get the same errors from each and every one of the, so thats it I give up lol

Did you check the md5 hashes?

neways - i downloaded mine from the poe2 website via filefront using Firefox

it gave me one zipped file - i extracted with winzip/winrar and had two files
one the main zip and one the mappack
i then proceeded to unzip the main and run the exe

voila done.

my zip was 1.03 gb big if it helps

i just dont get it though, everyone else is downloading and installing fine.....while my zipped folder is damaged or corrupt, has me scratchin my head n nuts gettin me more frustrated lol

I'll pass along my experience...I too got the corrupted errors initially, then I realized I had my antivirus program running while I was DLing. Turned it off, DLed from GamersHell (only took 20 mins, saved to desktop as a WinRAR doc), it contained two files relevant to PoE2. Double-clicked the .exe file which automatically unzipped the mappack (don't unzip the mappack yourself), installed like a charm. Re-booted (just to be on the safe side) once it was completely installed (oh, btw, I found out the hard way that while using WinRAR, don't close the window until it's completely done installing) I re-booted, got the patch, same deal - opened WinRAR (left it open), double-clicked the .exe, patched automatically, when it was finished I re-booted.

Well, that's my story, hope it provides you with some help. Good luck.

Havent checked my thread since I got it working lol, it had nothin to do with A/V programs for me though, I dont know what it was but I went to fileplanet.com got the file, no subscrip. service so it took me 45 minutes to dl'd, I had to use some fileplanet downloader though but I uninstalled that asap in fear of spyware/adware, ran a virus scan and found 4 viruses and 2 spyware problems =/ but POE2 is working okay BUT my vanilla loads superrrr slowww now! coincidence? maybe...after all that I try to get into a ranked poe2 server but I get kicked for highping as soon as I get in!!!!! and theres' only 2 ranked servers, I dont know if its EA global or POE2 stats but I'd like to record some stats and I cant cuz I get kicked for highping (i said that already right?) the only ranked servers are in europe somehwere in a shack

yo, i ahd the same problem. INSTALL THE MAPS FIRST!, you have to click both files in winzip. if you dont, it fucks up. after clicked both files, THEN Get the patch.
