BF2S Forums Played it? Liked it?

I just bought it a couple hours ago, played it for about 30 mins now. Its pretty good, I love the recon kit! There is nothing like sniping people on the top of the walkways in Camp Gibler (might have spelt that wrong).

is that true ?

if ya i will never buy it until they remove that , if not maybe for xmass

I played the demo and dislike the game.

- slow infantry combat
- underpowered vehicles
- and I don't like future games at all.

So no, I won't get it.

My copy arrived yesterday, CD Key will not register, but I am able to play.

Next, the ranking system/awards are not working since the EA Account Server is FUBAR.  If you check EA's website, you will see a lot of folks in the forums having similar issues. 

Last, the mouse goes crazy and the gameplay is lag-city.

its a good battlefield game and the future setting is a cool twist on things
but defo gonna stick with 1942 and 2

I like the unlock system - nice progression but I do see it as being something that will spawn 'alts' so people can have kits specialist players.

Titan mode is pretty cool, I like the major attack-defense situation.

No plane whores. I lived the planes in BF2 but was well sick of their game dominance. It may seem unrealistic not to have an air superiority vehicle in the future battlegrounds but screw-it; this is a game. Balance seems pretty good so far.

Things sliding about a moving titan blows big time. Ruins the atmosphere and immersion levels.

The vet programme was a farce. "You can only have a name that you had in BF2 but you can't use the same character set as in BF2". Nice ruling! Sure, if you used a name in BF2 then you should have first dibs on it in 2142 but if they're going to drop the char set down then you should be able to specify something else (though I think you can just pop in and create a new BF2 account for the job). Add to that the fact that duff and duffry have made their way onto EA's banned words list and I feel royally shafted. If anyone can come up with a good reason why they should have taken exception to my name I would like to hear it. I have no intention of changing the name I support online games under (those who know me know what I do) but if EA don't want to support my name then I feel less inclined to support their games (cue Quakewars etc)

And finally, the mother of all negs:
Twice now it has hung my PC. This is a stable system that has hung 2 or 3 in a year when I do too much to it. 2 system hangs so far playing 2142 and one of them coincided with my RAID array on my my docs drive keeling over (complete data loss).

All that said I have not played much BF2 recently but have played a fair bit of 2142. It's like an FPS revival for me. Thumbs up, but begrudgingly.

after running punkbuster update 3 times and NOT playing on the EA Chicago Servers #2 and 3 which were FUCT kicking everyone every 2 minutes for punkbuster violatons.  After i started playing on and Addicted to gaming server i was online for 3 hours no problem...now my wrist hurts LOL  ...  other than that WHERES THE IN GAME ADVERTISEMENTS?????  Havent seen one yet    Im not happy that foot soldiers have very little effect on the vehicles/tanks/walkers/etc   Those rockets seem to just bounce off...need more firepowers and more vehicles on each map..it sucks to walk acroos the map only to get shot down by heavy armor.

Otherwise its fun and different...REALY sucks bein a nooob again and dyikng so much

Future warfare has never interested me.  BF2142 was pumped out to make a buck for EA.  I know thats what a good business does but, hell -they never really nailed BF2 before it was released (got the glithes and asshattery out -they let the consumers do it on the fly).  I will not play 2142 almost soley on for that reason.  I've noticed the amount of people in BF2 decline allready, which is sad.   But part of me thinks "good riddance,"  I've also not seen the usual asses running around in BF2 (I guess daddy bought them 2142). .
