You know, I had that exact same thing earlier, although not with an M95 - it was a flaming HIND that i shotdown over the ocean on Gator with an Apache...and got 3 kills. Very strange.
I can only assume it was a SL whose gunner jumped out and someone else spawned - and so 3 kills including the road kill.
