The good things about being 37:

Started off on a Lloyds game machine, with paddles and gun.
Went on Atari 2600, Pac Man and all.
Discovered Commodore PET.
Got a TI99 (great for sprites).
Switched to Amiga, great gaming machine.
Got transferred to Mac, as I'm in advertising. Decent gaming.
On the Mac, got hooked on Doom, multiplayer, in 1995.
Switched to QWTF and discovered online gaming, on dialup.
Played QWTF up to Quake Arena.
Played Arena for a couple of months then discovered Urban Terror, on Q3.
Played two or three years, got in the top 50.
Had to get myself a PC (darn) so I figured I had to live with it.
Downloaded Enemy Territory, cause it was cheap.
Played like crazy, got in the top 100.
Man it sucks to be 28000th at BF2, but I love the game.

Cheers!

36.  Hey zeppelin, we got 2 clan members in their 60's so you are not alone in that age group!

I went a little different route than LordCongor.  Atari 2600, Intellivision, Apple IIe (anyone remember Wizardry the original?), Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, PC (many, many upgrades from the first one), PS1, PS2.

I'm 26, turning 27. My gf just turned 20 *dirty old man* I dunno...it kinda forces me to be introspective about everything. I mean, I'm approaching the 30 mark...I mean, is it time to give up this silly hobby? Take up model house building? Trade in the war games for Yahtzee? Is the term lan party going to refer to a big bridge game? But then it dawns on me, if I don't play these games of simulated urban warfare, and cause virtual death and destruction....then all the programmers and designers wouldn't be able to put food on their tables, and keep their WoW accounts active...so really, it's a humanitarian thing.

KEEP THE ECONOMY ALIVE!

GAME!

Can I gt an Amen?

Well, after having been through college, that's the best prep for social settings they could have gotten before they went.  Well, I guess you could have ripped a newly planted tree out of the quad and thrown it in the parking lot then thrown up on someone's shoes.... errr... that's another story for another time...

You don't deal with forum boards that much do you?  No one ever reads the posts.  Ever.

Unless you are some sort of weird post stalking freak.  Or really bored, like I am.

What you mean, a nasa computer. I can play bf2 with all graphics on medium with my comp which costed about 500-600 €. Probably should just buy more RAM, i hate 512. Im just too bored to go to a shop.

36 here also.  I remember the original Wizardry well.  I spent MANY hours playing it on the Apple IIe.  I liked it so much, I bought it for the PC.  Needless to say, it's one of those things where the memory of it is better than actually playing it now days.  Oh well.
