yeah that one of the things that is holding this mod back a little, though all i want from sf are the apache/ hind and air trafic control tower, maybe i could just add them to my mod then get everyon to by sf , but would have to ask dice bout that, not sure thayed like the idea, bout makes it better if i could .

any know how i can get incontact with ea / dice or the right people to see if i can use VERY small amout of content ?

or might just make it so you only need af some one build me an apache, hind and control tower

i wouldn't bother worrying/trying to contact them. i sincerely doubt you would get an answer, and even if you did it would be no just so that they wouldn't have to take any action, as opposed to because it was some kind of infringement.

anyway, for the hind - just use PoE2! It's free, and the mod team would respond to you because they are not some faceless corporation. No costs, and non-corporate content wins! yay, a bright future for all. the hinds in PoE2 are much better than the sf ones.

I just finished playing around some with Mashtuur. I think it will end up being very fun. Is there not a way to include the vehicles with the final download? The other mods don't use all EA/DICE models so they must have a way of incorporating the vehicles into the mod. So that way you could download the mod and take the vehicle models and incorporate them into your mod, so that way no one actually needs AF or AF or POE2 to run the mod. Or mabye I am completely off in left field but just an idea. Also will there be a desktop shortcut we can use in future versions so that we don't have to select it in BF2 then restart? But cool stuff so far

i think the issue with sf is that people bought sf for the new vehicles, so if we were to just mod them into free content, then this would be classed as copyright infringement because people could access content that they are supposed to be paying for without paying for it.

a friend of mine and i encountered this when we were making a mod for HL2 - we were told that we couldn't incorporate content from another game as that would mean people could access it without paying. got a cease and desist for asking permission - suxorz

1. you cant just copy the vehicles into your mod like said above ^ would be nice though (that braking copyright)
2. poe 2 hind is a possibility but still would like an apache, and air control tower, guess i just have to use wats in bf2/af
3. there is a desktop shorcut included in the ds mod folder , but only workd for default bf2 install C:/programs etc.
4. other mods make there own content ( desert combat - a10,hercules,tanks etc.) im just using what ea/dice made for bf2 and bring into a best of mod.
5. mod now has menu music and custom map load music
6. any one hered of the ingmae taunts for bf2 if you pre-book an account name for 2142 well i found em, in the bf2 directory (was looking for us win sound ) its funny, ther just 3 taunts all just different ways of saying Ha hah ha ha ah. but still funny and lame, thought i might share.
7. there even a train sound.
8. would be nice if some people that would like to map would join the cause

How are things progressing?
I was doing some thinking and would it be possible to make 64 player maps for co-op and singleplayer with the armored fury maps? I have no idea how that would be done but it would be cool to play co-op and singleplayer 64 player Armored Fury maps. Also I think it would be cool if we could use the scout choppers on Dalian Plant single player and co-op. I think it was also mentioned before as a cool idea to put the scout choppers on Karkand, both multi and singleplayer would be cool so you could co-op on that map too.

yeah i learnt how to do all that, i wanted a true desert combat scenario (Iraq war) like 1942 how it used real locations and battles that everyone knows, thats what made it such a great game, to bad bf2 kinda bummed out in that department levels are just random places you don't know except for oman, and once Armored Fury came out the new vehicles would make the maps just so much more interesting like DC for 1942. still looking for mappers, little busy right now with work so would be great to have some extra people join the cause only need 3 maps *which have been designed, though you are more than welcom to create your own bf2 quality maps, i could port the af vehicles into them buyt you do need af to play. Desert Siege will have all the default kits like bf2 just new maps + repected bpack vehicles like the booster packs.
