i have a 128 mb radeon 9600xt and it is good but my games i play lag a bit any suggestions for a better vid card
Try a GeForce 7800GT or GTX. You won't regret it.
I have used both Radeon and GeForce I find Geforce seems easier to work with as a laymen Radeon seemed touchy.
for that he would need a complete system overhaul as the card he has now is AGP (if I'm not mistaken) and the 7800 series cards are only avilable in PCI-e. If you want to stick with AGP for now, go with a 6800 Ultra or a Radeon 850XT or if you must an X800 XT PE or a Geforce 6600 series card.TriggerHappy998 wrote:

Here:
Confirmed, but frustrating for those that have just done an upgrade sticking with the AGP theme.sewermasta324 wrote:

Good on nVidia. Best way to phase out an old standard is to simply stop making high-end cards for it 8P. I love my 7800 GT personally. Happy as ever to switch from AGP to PCI-E.
if you mean RAM i have 1 gbBroken-Down-Hitler wrote:

man im lmao seeing the intel chip at the bottom
Your running the Radeon9600xt right? I asume you dont want to go and buy a new motherboard, so your stuck with agp video card slot. That leaves all the 'teh uber' 7800 series cards out, and most of Ati's high end cards.
I suggest a Radeon x800 agp series card (or x850) or nVidia's 6800 agp series cards. Both series provide excellent performance, and both have proven to be very stable with the newest released drivers.
If you do want to move over to pci-e, nVida 7800 series is the way to go.
*just a note*
I got my X850xt (agp) to pust 6300 and some change on 3dmark05 with those settings.

You have an AGP motherboard so the highest graphics card you can get that is still agp is the Radeon 850 XT. or the 800. They still have AGP versions of those. Everything else and up from there is all PCI Express x16 cards which would require a complete computer overhaul which would basicallly be a brand new computer from the ground up.Sgt.Gene wrote:
