Why would anyone want to still play Vanilla BF2?
I mean, after I've played PoE2 and PRMM and seen some other mods for BF2,
I can't help but think how much BETTER the mod teams have made BF2.
Every time I go back and try to play regular BF2 I just can't do it.
Too many hackers/noobs/padders/kids/etc.
Not to mention the game play in BF2 just feels loose, unresponsive and just kind of wrong to me.
But whenever I open a BF2 mod I can't believe how much fun it is!
More thought put in to general balance of these games, no more jets raping the skies because AA is sparse and useless, Helicopters that actually FEEL right, guns that actually feel like they are hitting things, Armor combat that's more than just "whoever shoots the other the most wins" I mean the list goes on, but I just have to say that I can't help but feel that the BF2 mods really outshine the game itself.

What do you guys think?

I must say i do agree, and stats are coming to PoE 2 soon as is USa And Russia i look forwed to a nice update from the PoE 2 dev team.

I think not having stats in general makes it more fun because you care less about your SPM and pay more attention to having fun. Adding stats to PoE might be its downfall because the stat whores will show themselves and really start to exploit the game mechanics to its fullest. Imagine all the bullshit people pull in BF2 coming to PoE. o.0

Well i agree with you there......I have about 12 hours or so on PoE2 and the one thing I noticed so far is there hasnt been ONE....ONE "LOST CONNECTION" yet....hmmmm....wonder what that says about patch 1.3 huh?

so freakin true...i enjoy the mod as it is now, and DO NOT want ANY KIND of ranking system ffs. now people actually play to win and not to whore points. it'll end once a ranking system is introduced

They pick me up in BF2 as much as they pick me up in POE2.

Half of u BF2 bashers are actually bringing up the players as a downside of BF2 and u say the people playing POE2 are better. I've come to notice that the percentage of total fucktards in POE is equal to that in BF2. yes but you guys are forgetting that these are mods. none of them made the game from scratch. they based it off bf2 meaning that ea games did a lot of work and the people making it just made it a bit better. maybe if they make a game from scratch then its good.

Im done with vanilla, EVERYTHING about POE is better than vanilla/SF/EF/AF.

Allthe guns sound/shoot 50 times better than the best gun in vanilla. I have more headshots with the assault guns in just a week of playing than I have had with the crap sniper rifles in reg for the whole time I've played.

The tanks drive better, can climb small hills without slowing to a snails pace. They also have 2 rounds if the situation calls. One even has the tv missle.

AA that can shot down choppas, the flak guns just destoy a helo in no time. The shoulder fired stingers, you can get a shot on aircraft with out them knowing were you are, Its such BS in vanilla just haveing stationary AA(I know theres mobile but there an easy target also) the piolts know were everyone of them is at and can take them out before you can get lock.

The only reason PoE2 is better is because of higher stability, better weapon sounds and less glitches; BF2 has PoE2 in all other areas but what do you expect; its a mod and if PoE2 was developed so it would be a boxed game it likely would be better in some fields.

My big problem with BF2 is that I really, really like infantry combat. Karkand is great fun, as is sharqi, as is mashtuur, as are other IO small sizes.

In POE2, there are a few things that make infantry combat less interesting:

1) If you are hit from behind, you will be dead way before you can turn around.

This would be neither here nor there, except that I've been spoiled by BF2s random deviation, which actually makes infantry fighting A WHOLE LOT MORE INTERESTING. Who would have thought?

2) The attacking team gets pwned in Fallen.

Seriously. The way to win fallen is to split up your team between two flags, take those, and sit on them. The defending team can't win by sitting around, but they get owned by moving towards your flags in anything but prone.

3) One hit weapons are ultra stupid.

One hit weapons are just not fun, unless the map is Unreal Tournament size, you move at Unreal Tournament speed, and you respawn in Unreal Tournament time. Since this is still BF2, the anti-tank rockets and the one-hit-kill sniper kit are really, really, really not fun.

So, basically, in answer to the OPs question, if you like infantry combat, POE2 is really not for you.

It is not "goddamn war," and I have been on a real battlefield, and BF2 Karkand, Sharqi, or Mastuur are way more close to the real thing than PoE my friend.
