Downloaded it, I click on the "Play PoE2" icon and bf2 starts up, goes to a black screen, and then closes....

Your profiles are set to default res/frequency which your monitor doesn't support. Manually edit all of them to a setting you know your monitor loves.
I dont get it, i have a 21 inch?

sorry that sounds stupid but mine goes to black screen then closes and then a few secs later it finishes booting

if what the man above says is true then you could try deleting your bf2 profiles and then ingame go > retrieve account - however it does mean you would have to reenter any joystick keys/ other settings.

Or a setting BF2 loves, because when you set bf2 to some resolutions the screen just goes black then bails to desktop.vanmani wrote:

If your setting your own resolution, instead of editing the profiles just add it on the end of the shortcut. ie " +szx 1440 +szy 900"
