I love the recon kit in 2142 but I just can't seem to get it to work well while in zoomed in mode. It's all jumpy and laggy and just a pain in the ass. Anyone else getting this? Or is it just me?

Also, my tip to you guys... I have a logitech G7 mouse and I gotta tell you, the on-the-fly sensitivity does wonders for the game. I put the in-game mouse sensitivity at .1, so in my lowest DPI setting I can move the sniper rifle by tiny amounts and be dead accurate. Yet when I zoom out I just flip back to higher DPI's and I'm able to take out people with faster tracking.

Just saying, with the new sniping adjustments needed, the sensitivity is a plus.

They made the sniper kit harder to use. It is supposed to wobble. I never thought I'd type it but, SEARCH. Check the 2142 threads. There is a review on it. Apparently, in the authors opinion, you are wasting your time.

There is an unlock that helps you stabilize the sniper rifle. Headshots are remarkable easy with the sniper rifle.

The sniper rifles suck, imo the recon kit is only useful after you unlock everything up to and including the Lambert Carbine. <3 Lambert Carbine!!

I searched for "sniper" in the topic subjects of the 2142 forum. Only 1 post was found and it wasn't about what I needed. I then searched for "sniper" in both Topics and Posts and I got 2 pages worth of results. Searching for a more general "recon" also yeilded bad results. It's hard to say which one of those was gonna contain stuff about sniping that I needed. If there was a post with a review on it, good naming of the post would be great to find it.

In any case, sniper help was meant to go both ways, (need help... want to give help) so I needed to make my own post anyway about the mouse sensitivity. But thanks for the tips, definatelly wasting time with sniper rifles... good to find out in the Beta to be prepared for the real game haha.

And I have the stabilizer and that works great... my question is more that when zoomed in, I feel like moving the mouse is "laggy" and not smooth, VS when moving the mouse not zoomed in. It just feels like something is wrong, like when zoom in in BF2 and it automatically zooms out without you wanting it to. That kind of lag.

Alt + F4...

... Oh wait no, you unlock the 4x scope upgrade thingy, and then just scroll wheel once you zoom in with right click.

I like how they did the sniper now, u need more "skill" to aim and stuff, im awsome at it, i got some nice hiding spots and I just sit there and snipe the hell out of people.

I use MX518 mouse and i dont change my sensitivity at all unless im in a plane or something.

Always aim for the head/neck, its a one shot kill.

I've been warming up more and more to these sniper rifles. I really like the skill needed to take out soldiers now. And no more of that g36 sniping you in 1 shot bs, you actually have an advantage at a distance. I just wish that since it takes more skill to take soldiers out, the rifles would do a bit more damage.
