I was listening to a fabulous program on NPR a few hours ago entitled "Thistle and Shamrock" or something and I feel the need to get a bunch of crap. Some of the stuff I'm impressed by are Brian Boru Irish Pipe Band, Pauline Scanlon, and Baz McSherry's gritty Screenplay. There were some excellent artists on NPR's show but the only one I remember was Scalon and apparantly I'll have to wait a week or so for tonight's playlist.

Anyone have any recommendations? I'm not really looking for traditional "rocky road to dublin" stuff. More along the lines of a Bob Dylan/Enya mix or heart thumping instrumentals.

I've tuned into PBS and heard that same program also. Hmmm, interesting.

The closest thing to Irish music I listen to are the Dropkick Murphys, they're a drunken punk rock band from Boston, close enough.
