I was wondering how the Ap mines feel, whether they were similar to claymores or not.

Are they spammable?

Are they totally undefusable (except by ultra lucky engineers)?

What's the range like (it seems to be absurd on claymores sometimes, when sometimes down the street someone walks in front one and kills you twenty feet away)?

etc. etc.

Thanks!

have you ever seen a real claymore go off? there range is a little more than 20 ft away.  i have seen a few go off and i wouldnt want to be within 20 ft of one.  but then again this is game and you cant have all the weapons as strong as they actualy are.

read this http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land … aymore.htm 20 foot away is not nearly enough

yeah I've been claymored while capping bases already. Needless to say their dogtags are now on display in my rather large collection.

Not as large as yours. Probably not as large as mine.

well, the description says that you can get by the new APM's by moving ever so slowly past it. Also, engineers can defuse them, presumably even from the front ( there is a defuser unlock in the game for exactly that purpose, I think ). I have yet to even see an APM in he game, so I wouldn't know.

The problem is though, that the game is so fast-paced that people simply won't take the time to let an engineer defuse the APM, even if it was possible. They'd rather rush it, and get revived.

If they make claymores tkable, then they are gonna be widely shunned. Snipers WILL get minus TK points. Perhaps for the cost of making not harm friendly they could be made a bit weaker? Random suggestion there.

PS: Also mines should be made to TK also to keep it fair, anyone remember why they got rid of the TK on Clays and Mines? Because they where TK machines.

claymores in bf2 have a 9 meter detonation arc and a 10-12 meter killing arc while in real life they can be lethal 10 times that distance. the only thing that should be fixed is killing them with grenades.

You kidding?  A real claymore is deadly to 50 meters and past!  That is about 175 feet, and will cover an area about 35 feet wide at that point. Claymores are very very nasty.  Actually, most stuff the military uses for real is very nasty.   You just don't get the full effect on TV or in games.
