I'm too lazy to read this whole thread, so I dunno if someone already said this or not, but I'm gonna say it (again) anyway:
If a nick is in use in BF2, then you CANNOT use it in BF2142 YET! The whole idea of this program is that people can reserve their current nickname in BF2142. So if someone has the name you want in BF2, then you cannot get it in BF2142 until it comes out in stores. Then it's a free for all.

If you have "Bob" in BF2 and wanna reserve "Bobby" in BF2142 while someone already has "Bobby" in BF2, then you gotta wait until 2142 hits the store shelves at which point you can get "Bobby" assuming they haven't registered it for 2142 yet.
the name u registered for bf2 is registered already for bf2142 already -_-
I tried to reserve my name, but there was a glitch, so I tried another name, not thinking that if it worked, I would not have the name I wanted. Now I can't have "littlecheez9" as my BF2142 name. Damn...

pfff with bf2, Terror, T3RR0R, t3rr0r, t3rror, terr0r etc were all taken.... if you look for the stats they have an score of 0. kinda stupid that the demo accounts also are in the stats system

IT doesnt help that 2142 has a character limit of 14 for names...

If you have an account name in BF2, NO-ONE can steal it. Only YOU have access to that account unless they know your passowrd.

As I said, just wait until BF2142 hits store shelves at which time you'll be able to get the nick assuming he didn't register it for BF2142 yet.
