I've been playing this series of game since CM2 (way way before it became FM) and have had every single one since and its the most addictive game ever. My longest session, 15 hours striving to take my team to the top.

Right now I'm in 2009 as man utd, won the league once, champions league twice and fa cup 3 times. Currently 1st, played 16, won 14, drawn and lost 1. I'm demolishing everyone at the moment, even chelski and arsenal

I love finding gems on the game - aka players that are unknown but turn out amazing - see Versace, signed him for 300k and is now worth £19.million

My current team includes, tevez, cassano, gattuso and joaquin.

I have no idea what half those words are, but I enjoy games like that.

The Championship Manager brand and game was conceived by two brothers: Paul and Oliver Collyer. In a scenario typical of many self-made computer game programming teams in the early days of the industry, the original Championship Manager game was written from their bedroom in Shropshire, England. Since then, they have founded a development company to take the game further, Sports Interactive, and are now based in Islington, North London. Oliver now only works for the company on a part time basis, but remains co-Chair, with his brother. The Collyer brothers and Sports Interactive are no longer involved with the development of Championship Manager

In the United States and Canada the game is sold as Worldwide Soccer Manager 2006 or WSM. This is similar to the name of the series on the Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast. These games were published by Sega who, incidentally, are now Football Manager's publishers, in the place of Eidos, who published Sports Interactive's Championship Manager series until their split in 2003.
