I'm posting this because I want everyone to know about this interesting new hobby.
Geocaching has been around for about 6 years and is slowly getting attention. Geocaching is a worldwide game dedicated to GPS (Global Positioning System) users, called GPS Stash Hunting, or Geocaching. The game basically involves a GPS user hiding "treasure" (a container and its contents), and publishing the exact coordinates so other GPS users can come on a "treasure hunt" to find it. The only rules are: if you take something from the stash, you must leave something for the stash, and you must write about your visit in the logbook. Hopefully, the person that stashed this container found a good spot that is on public property and is not easily found by uninterested parties.
So basically you get the Latitude and Longitude of this treasure, put it into your GPS, and then go find it. I've found about 50 of these geocaches.
At 1st you think "this is stupid", but i promise you after you go out and do it you will be like "holy shit that was kind of fun". I know this because I did it and about 20 of my friends have all done this.
It's so crazy to see how many of these are just sitting beside the road on the way to work/ school. On my way to school, I pass by about 10 geocaches. They are always there, but you don't know it until you look for it.
http://www.geocaching.com is there homepage, just goto the search menu and type in your zip code and be amazed at how many there are in your area.
DO IT!
