just interested.

bf1942 - lagfree and nearly no other problems
free(!) mod - desert combat

how can it be that a group of people are able to programm a mod and a big company is not?? (bf2 for me is not more than a mod...)

where are my heroes who programmed dc???

come back and help ea/dice!!!!

DC was the old good days no bugs and my version is 0.7. BF2 runs version 1.3 and full of bugs...

DC was far more escapist than BF2, and its helicopter being difficult to master was euphoric to fly. There were far less things to worry about playing DC, like reload times, accuracy, K: D ratio, W:L ratio etc. And most of all, it was fast to load and stable to run.

I missed DC a bit when trying the Little Bird in Armored Fury. It's nothing like the DC one, in fact it should be renamed Big Fat Goose or something.

flying in dc was much more difficult. and i loved it. now there are just thousands of guys waiting for planes/helis and tk you to get it. in former times most people jumped in a heli - took off - immediately landed on their head - respawned and took something they could handle...

its not easy getting old...

Desert Combat and Point of Existence and Forgotten Hope are prime examples of the people who should be working at EA and DICE.

I wish they had a desert map in BF2, like El Amein (f*ck googling for the correct spelling, you know what i mean)

The closest thing to EL Amein is Gulf of Oman, and thats pretty far off.

Or they could have a map inside an afghan city. (Mashtuur city and Gulf of Oman dont really count as a city to me)

Like in the game Black Hawk Down, the maps were awsome, if only they were at the quality of BF2 (in the good aspects)

if ya miss DC then go play it... surprisingly enough still tons of servers up and running... including my favorite tnt cap the flag with the turbo humvees and buggies... got right back into the apache and the mh-500... the curses soon followed as i downed jets and bomber mwahahahaa.... but holy cow i missed my run button lol

and for all those who said bug free you gotta be kidding me... like any other game it got patched to shiat and was full of funny lil quirks

Uhm.. Who made the game? Who made the engine? Who made all the game mechanics? Who laid a BASE for the modmakers?

Oh, yeah, you forgot those, didn't you.

How can you even compare a FULL GAME with a MOD?

bf2 is just a bf1942 "mod". what do you think it bases on?? both from ea - remember...
except of new stuff and a few changes (running, visuals etc) its the same.

oh and it costs 30-40 EUR...

each "expansion"...

They became DICE New York. Then DICE New York got closed down and those employees went to either DICE Sweden or DICE Canada. Either way, they all work for DICE now.
