Anyone wondering how DICE decided on those famous 4 kits? Well....
the NEW Assault Kit-A couple EA/DICE gods were out having a beer. The 1st one was pissed because he made up the BF2 Assault kit, and no one was using it because everone liked using the Medic kit instead. So, out of revenge, they got rid of the medic class, to make people go Assault. And, be make things really funny, they gave the new Assault class a medic bag, and then gave him shock paddles as an unlock!
The NEW Recon Kit- The EA/ DICE gods got really pissed at all those lone wolves out playing Spec Ops and Snipers in BF2, and decided to have a fun joke, so they forced the Spec Ops and Sniper to mate (don't ask me how, they were the gods in this story) and their unholy progeny became the new Recon Kit.
The NEW Engineer Kit- Well, the EA/DICE gods were having a few hits of 'inspration weed' and discussing the metaphysical an philisophical dichotomy presented by the old BF2 Engineer. "He, like, loves vehicles, man... he is always running around fixing all those vehicles. "But," the second god said, "He carries thosee AT mines. he wants to destroy vehicles." The first had an idea "DUDE! What if, like, the engineer had to run around with the Anti Tank kit, man, but he still had, you know, like, his wrench, man? People would be screaming 'fix me, kill him, fix me fix him, kill that...' man... totally like expressing how torn man must be in his choices and making descisions in the world around him, dude." The 2nd god said "Dude! Totally awesome.. that would completely rule. Let's do it! But... like, what would we do about the Anti Tank guy?" "To Hell with him; he always was a pushy bitch." The moral of this story? beware of letting gods have dope while designing video games.
The NEW Support Kit- The two EA/DICE gods were stummped. "What'll we do with the support guy? Not like anyone really uses him anyway? What do we do here?" "Screw it, I'm tired. Just give him a few new toys and leave it at that. Nobody will notice or care."
And as for everything else.... the EA/DICE gods were generous, and gave everyone a knife and pistol; but since they were hung over and coming down off their high, they deecided to make hand grenades an unlock.
