Ok before you jump to conclusions, this isn't another "Is there gonna be a BF2142s.com OmGWTFBBQQ!"

I was just bored and went to check to see if these domains were registered. Turns out both of them are, but their owners aren't who I would've expected them to be.

BF2142.com is owned by some guy whose registration info is in Israel.

BF2142s.com is owned by some group called GameStrata. I checked out their site, but it asks you for logon info so who knows what that is.

I was just wondering now, have any of you made any money by purchasing domain names and then selling them to whoever will benefit from them most? Aka, buy BF2142.com, try and sell it to EA for 1 megagajillion dollars? I wish I had bought PS3.com back in the day and instantlly become rich. However I would've also bought xbox2.com and that would've screwed me over cause of stupid xbox360.

There are bots that register domains that people have searched for and then the creator can sell them for ridiculous prices. For example, one day I might search for mycompanyname.com to see if I can register it. A bot, detecting the search, will register it soon after, forcing you to either pay through the nose for it or buy a new one. Cocks, to be honest.
