Cache (pronounced cash) refers to an internal memory capacity contained in CPU's which is where internal processing functions are performed. The larger the "on chip cache" the faster the processor can work. This is one of the reasons why a 2.4 gig Pentium 4 CPU with 512k on chip cache will perform faster than a 2.4 gig Celeron processor that only has 128k on chip cache.
