Does'nt Montreal have a Mall that is underground to protect from the harsh winters ?

not so sure it was built because of the winters though.

Canada... we club baby seals in the winter... we harvest trees for maple syrup... the middle is very flat... ppl here like to fish cause we got so many lakes... used to be the longest undefended border, dunno if it still is i mean no fence but lots of helo's and such... First World War -- Canada enters in 1914, the U.S. enters in 1917. Second World War -- Canada enters in 1939, the U.S. enters in 1941... back in the founding days of the Canada apparently you could ride the train and just shoot out the windows at all the bison while traveling through the prairies... and all sort of other useless stuff like lots of your beloved holywood types are Canadian

oh and the term CyberPunk is Canadian thanks to Mr. William Gibson

My perspective:  Canada is cleaner, summertime is great (for the two months), but in general Canadians are more laid back and less NOW NOW NOW.

I love Canada.

Oh, and we have the "universal health care system", where even if you're flat broke, or even homeless, they will cure whatever sickness you have, may it be cancer or what not.

And speaking of snow, it was fun when back in the days we had a few days off of school because the roads were blocked by walls of snow, and if you happened to injure yourself, you had to get to the hospital on snowmobile! fun times... but with the weird climate over the past 10-15 years, we don't see that much often now.

Coldest i've been outside was -54 (including windchill), stayed 2 minutes out, couldn't walk anymore.

That was in New-Brunswick, back in 1995-96, on the north-eastern tip. I know it was cold but found out on the radio that it was THAT cold. I remember my legs completely froze and almost had to crawl back inside home hehehe.

I am now in Montreal, and it is mighty cold here too in the winter.

the universal health care system has negative results, too, waiting lists for being cured are way larger than in the USA, especially here in Quebec. You can wait a few months to get cured for a cancer... its sometime ridiculous and thats the reason why we think to include private insurance.
