ok i got some pretty crappy videos but i only want the background music...can anyone teach me how to extract the music from the video?

Play the video and record "Wave" or "What U Hear" with Audacity.
Also, if it's a song, takea section of the lyrics, google "<LYRICS HERE> lyrics" and you can find the song.
From there, get the song however you please...
