Hey fellow photoshopers. I've been trying to figure out how to extract the color information of an image for a cool optical illusion that I learned about but I haven't been successful so far. So I'm hoping that some of you BF2s'ers might now of a way to do it. Basically, I'm trying to get this optical illusion to work with a few images I have. http://www.fretmasters.com/illusion/

The closest I got was to switch my images to LAB color mode and leave only the A and B channels. This gives me some color information, but it's not exactly what I need for the illusion to work. The illusion uses a more detailed color image. Any other tricks that I might be able to use?

Cool illusion!

I did a little test in PS with two layers: one grayscale and one altered.

I altered the original image by adding contrast and brightness, then inverting the colors and adding the dot so I could focus on one point of the picture. After about 30 seconds I clicked the grayscale layer to be visible, and voila! the negative colors burned in my retina along with the black and white picture formed an image with positive colors. The result wasn't as vivid than in the original illusion, but I got close.
I need around tree fiddy.
