BF2S Forums Any student pilots?

This may be a stupid question but........

Couldn't you just quite the army and join the Air Force?

from what i heard....my team's coach and ex-runner......it cost alot of money to get hours in....

I haven't flown in about 6 years, but I have about 250 hours of both single and multi-engine time. The training isn't too difficult for most people. I would suggest saving up between $4,000 and $5,000 dollars if you can, that way you don't have to stop in the middle of your training because you run out of money. That seems to happen a lot to people, then it ends up costing more money because they have to fly more to get caught up. But that would be about what you need to get a private pilot certificate. I would say try to fly twice a week, maybe 3 times at the most. That seems to be best for most people. It really is a lot of fun though. I would recommend it to anyone that has the means to do it. You can also check the internet for flight schools in your area. Swing by and check them out, see which one you like best. Most of them offer an "intro flight" for around $40-$50. That will give you a good idea of what it's like, and will probably get you hooked.
