Guys like Emmit and Sanders were cool to watch, and the quarterback-as-leader acts like Montana & Elway were something to behold...but the guys who really get my juices flowing are the hardasses, the killers.  Guys like Dick Butkus, Ronnie Lott, Mike Singletary, and that Cal player who smashed through the Stanford band on his way to the endzone in 1982.  Broken trombones FTW!

The only countries that dont call soccer football and football soccer is USA and AUS, I think.  My fav American Footballer though is the fridge, Chicago Bears winning the superbowl about 10/15 years ago with that fatty, inspired fat kids all across the USA.

Actually, no country calls football-soccer. It's football everywhere. Just called american football.

Also, USA was NEVER the ONLY country in the world.

I don't really have a favorite player of the past.  I am a big Colts fan and I have alot of respect for Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison.  These have to be two of the most stand up guys in the NFL.  They let their play on the field do all their talking for them.  Marvin Harrison ownes Terrel Owens as the best reciever in the league for this reason.  Peyton is just Peyton 200% love of the game.

Im not going to try and sound like im right by saying Actually but if we are talking about the round ball version of the game the USA call it Soccer, Aussies call it Soccer.  Football to the both of you means an egg shaped ball not a round one.  Im welsh and I bloody hate egg shaped ball games.

in AUS football is not 'a' game, its a classification for a game type.
Including:
Soccer
AFL (Australian football league)
rugby league
rugby union
are the main 4(in no particular order).
But any game which involves a ball and and kicking it is included.

and any other ball game that some how involves kicking it.

So when someone say "gee mate did you watch the footy last night"? you say, "which one, Soccer, AFL, Rugby League, or Rugby Union mate"?

If so, Id find a way of classing the diffrent types so they are easily identified.  That is of course, is what you wrote was correct.

pretty much. If i knew the person i could probbly work out what there talking about by what they prefer to watch. If not id ask "which game?".
