Started on here turns into a bash America thread? Even asking something as simple as which American Football team you support turns into a bash fest for everyone outside the US. It gets to me that everyone hates us so much for having our own ideals, ideas, our own style.

So, why is it all you pusses can do is bash the USA? Please, just give opinions on it, don't start bashing again just because we have it better than you.

sadly I've found that you can't really know what your forum persona is. While I took it exactly as that, not everyone reads where you post such things. I have no clue what I come across as in a general sense, so in instances like that, the pathetically obvious /sarcasm tag is helpful.

That being said, I think the anti-american sentiment has its' roots in teh same logic as the anti-intel sentiment, anti-microsoft sentiment, or anti-anything widely accepted and successful sentiment.

Everyone bashes America for the same reasons they bash any group of people, just so they can blame their own problems on someone else, or just for fun. I'm English and sure we bash America all the time but it's all in good fun, taking the piss of foreigners is like a British hobby. Sure the American (and British) :-( goverment is responsible for lots of bad shit but what government isn't? You can't realistically blame the whole population for that.

On topic, I think even most Americans will agree that we are largely an arrogant and self absorbed people. Doesn't really surprise me at all that a lot of people hate us so bad. Hell, I hate plenty of Americans myself but there is still nowhere I'd rather be.

This thread is done. It's easy to see why America bashing comes so easily when a good majority of them decide to show off their general lack of intelligence in the forums, and are so quick to fire up a flame war (the vast majority of the flames in this forum, whether intentional or not, are started by Americans).

Of course, there are several exceptions to the rule here, but in general, that's the truth. We are also a really large country with several different lines of political and economic thought, and it really comes down to whoever decides that they think they know enough about a topic to post their thoughts on it...
