Perhaps this has brought about some closure to an event that still haunts me. I didn't know CJ well, but I felt like I did from all of the stories from my boss and co-workers. CJ was frequently the topic of conversation and it seemed the conversation often turned to his latest exploits. He was a consumate gamer, an avid web designer, and in general it seemed that he completely mastered anything he set his mind to.
On Jan. 01 2006 he was involved in a motorcycle accident which took his life. I had only met him recently, but felt as if I had lost a dear friend, I'm sure in time he would have been.
As his family was considering a roadside memorial, I remembered a celtic cross design which I had started months before and never completed. CJ's family liked the design and CJ's best friend and I began the process of building the cross. Last weekend the memorial was completed.
You didn't know CJ but I'm sure you would have liked to. Anyhow, his memory lives on. If any of you have some Captain Morgan around, perhaps you could raise a toast to him sometime?
Rest in peace CJ. You were a dear friend to all who knew you and you are missed.
