I've had them ever since I had glasses, and when I got glasses I picked up a case of occasional double vision

I have been seeing this floating like cobwebs in both my eyes. I have 2 clumps of them, each in my eyes. One has a dot with a lump of cobwebs around it. Its only this year that i have been noticing it but i have been seeing the same thing from last year but took no real notice of it. Is it because i have been beaten up 5 times on the head simultaneously? Ps. it was 5 blows to the left side of the head.
very simple and i better get a +1 karma for this.

I volunteer at an optometist's office on a weekly basis since this is the profession i want to have the rest of my life. Its because your vitreous humor ( the jelly part of your eye ) stats to clump up as you get older. Its prevalent with people who are myopic ( nearsighted) or it can be a sign of a detached retina that may lead to diabetes retinopathy( leaky blood vessels in the eye----so you gamers better watch your glucose levels... ).. if it gets worse, i would go see a opthamologist or an optometrist.

high blood pressure and high glucose levels will screw up your vision really quickly. instead of beating yourself up playing bf2 all day and all night, get off your arse and run a mile, cut down on the fast food, eat good fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin A that will prevent  macular degeneration, xerophthalmia ( inflamation of the mucus layer right outside the cornea).

Off topic: Being a health professional  ( doctor or dentist, or optometrist) and gaming dont mix very well.
Instead of playing Bf2 , quake 4, WoW, grand theft auto, grand turismo, i got to bust my ass with gross anatomy, histology, pathophysiology, nutrition, infectious diseases. And my head feels like crap after all that studying.

Best wishes.........professionalx2324
He's right +1....you probably have Syneresis.....go to your Doctor/Optometrist but shouldn't be anything to worry about.

However, If you get a large floating object that is ring shaped get down the Doc's asap - those beatings around the head you got may have partially detached a retina and that needs to be sorted and quick

My wife is a doctor by the way and I also suffer from this

Floaters CAN be treated I've heard, and read, but I'm discovered they're only treated in the most dire of situations through eye laser surgery where they blast the suckers, but I think there's also some kind of complication about it for that too...

ANyway, they can be treated but it's not suggested or necessary, unless an optometrist insists that something be done to them. As far as I know, one has to just adjust to the damn things, but I really do wish I could get rid of mine since in what I do as an artist (hoping to hit it off in the graphic novel industry) I need my eyes very much and it's such a distraction staring at a fresh clean sheet of paper to draw on... then the clumps of the buggers come up and mess me up thinking they're pencil marks I need to erase

I have clearish floaters in my vision too. It's the blood vessels that carried blood to the iris when it formed as a child. Nothing to worry about there.

I also have an opaque brown floater. When looking at a white wall, it's in my periphial vision. It's from a ba***** who kept flashing me in the eye with a laser, and it eventually made a burn spot.

Yeah, mine is opaque when i look at the clear blue sky and strain my eyes:P Otherwise, its translucent but its equally irritating.

You're not.. I too know those dudes.. Floating slowly and blurred past the line of your sight, and as you try to look at them, they move faster and your center of sight can never catch them!

I suggest removing your eyeballs immediately. There isn't time to waste.
