- Why hasn't Bush called for a Cease Fire??

Buddy in my Sig would have an answer for Israel
I'll tell you why Bush hasn't called for a ceasefire. Because neither party would pay a blind bit of attention to him, exposing his lack of influence in the region. Israel calls the shots when it comes to the USA - not vice versa. It's not so much Israel being the 51st state of the USA more USA being the satellite state of Israel.
It's OK for European leaders to call for ceasfire because nobody pays any attention to them anyway and everybody knows it. The problem is that Bush is supposed to be Mr. Superpower and he would lose face if he called for something his allies Israel would completely ignore.

Ignorance is bliss.
This entire area has been at war for thousands of years. Simply calling for a cease fire is not going to accomplish anything.
The tensions in the area will continue for thousands of more years. It will only stop once they've finally destroyed each other.

Simple, Give Isreal some time to weaken hezbollah. This will take time because hezbollah is very well trained and motivated, probably the toughest Arab army out there.
I wish we would nuke the whole area over there and end this crap for few hundred years.
Maybe we should stop calling all this the 'Middle East Crisis' and start calling it 'Middle East Culture'.
It makes me warm and fuzzy too.CameronPoe wrote:

Israel was lucky hezbollah crossed thier border and attacked them. Frankly it's a great chance for Israel to weaken an army that has beem massing and arming on there border. I mean come on guys this was bound to happen...you got an army bent on the destruction of a country building up on the countries border.
We all know that noone would listen to Bush's cease fire, but publicaly denouncing something is a form of politics.
Not Lebanon is all sorts of destroyed but Isreal has a right to defend itself.
I thought about this the other night. If any one of the muslim army's was a real threat to Isreal they would be having a cold war. But there is no real threat to Isreal in the region so they can act like a bully.
