Alienware sucks, custom FTW
Wow...I am getting close to buying a new computer and I was going to go with Alienware. I'm glad I found this thread.

BUY IF: -you want the best customer service
-want a very sexual case
-easy upgradability
-amazing (and free) tech support
DON'T BUY IF: -you want the same spec. computer for the same price
-you are willing to have no warrenty or support from building your own
After owning mine for coming up to 2 years i have had only several minor problems. A few months after buying it the graphics card gave up, they sent another one within the week and paid for postage.
A few months ago i have upgraded my graphics card as when i bought it the stock card was its weakness. I got my new one (x1600pro 512mb - AGP) working with no problems at all.
Mine cost £1400 (inc. postage to the UK) at the time of purchase but looking back i think i will buy my next pc from a custom build site like www.aria.co.uk as I really want to get the best pc i can for my money.

Sorry but your computer has been sent back to phase 7 because they found a faulty part.
Oh! Okay so when will the Pc be sent back to phase 8.
I’m not really sure but what I can do is send them an e-mail asking them what the problem was with your rig.
Can you maybe give me a number so that I can speak to them and find out what the problem is because I have not been updated on anything since the backorder E-mail?

So as you can see I’m still waiting for my rig that I have spent $3500 on and have not been updated on anything since Monday, July 3, 2006, and this was the backorder date………!

tbh you cant expect anything from Alienware anymore... it was bound to go to the shitter once Dell bought them.
I have some really good news my rig will be shiped today or tomorrow and i will let all you guys know if it was worth buying or not PEACE ))))))) I am so fkn happy HEYYYYYYYYYYY ))))))))))))
