There customer service is the worst i have ever dealt with in my life.............!

I am really pissed of and need a [HUG][SOB][SOB]

Just a word of advice to anyone thinking of buying an alienware rig. The Rig better be worth it

acidkiller - really?  Please keep me posted (by PM if you wish).  We are thinking about getting one of their laptops.

One of my co-workers got one and it truly rocks!  If your is made as well as his, you'll love it.

dude part of what you are paying for is the fact that they spend a lot more time on each build than most of the companies out there, I had to wait several weeks before I got mine, and I was worth the wait, I have not needed them for repair, but all my dealings with cust service otherwise has been impeccable, one time I got cut off after waiting about 10 minutes, had it for 7 months and not a single issue, a few software crashes, buth that's more the individual games fault (guess which one crashed most), not a single blue screen, has always performed impeccably, my only issue is that the battery tends to not last much more than half an hour, but I knew that would happen when I ordered a 13 pound laptop, I think that Dell's purchase was more for Dell to get their grubby lil hands on Alien's goodies, I doubt their going to start fucking around with their operation

Dell bought Alienware, but it still operates independantly.

(http://www.alienware.com/press_release_ … 206_aw.asp)

I bought one a while ago, and it shipped two weeks before it was scheduled to.

I ordered another two weeks ago, and it is shipping today (even thought they have spent a long time on phase 8).

I'd say its just bad luck.

I should think it would have to do with how much customizing you did, almost nothing on my laptop is the same as the base package, you can also track it's build pregress through your e-mails they send you before it even ships

Had my alienware for about two years now, not a single problem with.  Diffently worth the money.  It did take about three weeks to get it.

my trick is catching their rebuilt lappies, I picked up one that would normally have cost @ $3800 for 2000, but I still have the same warranty and service coverage of the brand new one, the only thing I think is reused is the mobo and the case, the only drawback being that since it's a laptop you end up with their next to latest g-card, but then it's still likely to be well ahead of the curve, I may send it back for a second gig of ram

Mine took about 6 weeks over what they had scheduled. Every day you would scan for the 'Next Phase' email but it never seemed to materialize....

Has to be said though when it did finally arrive it did not disappoint, it has been top notch since day one... The only thing that caught me out was after playing BF for a good few hours, it made a loud popping noise (sound card and speakers not the machine itself!!) and turned itself off - i guess from over-heating. Wasn't expecting that at 3AM!!! Still i suppose it's better it has an auto cut out rather than burn the crap out of the insides.....

And it goes without saying, don't sit with it on your lap unless you fancy roasted genitals....

I have had nothing but problems with Alienware.

First of all, it took a month for me to receive my system. Of course, I'm living overseas, I was in Germany at the time. It arrived too late to send in the rebate.. my dad tried anyways and Alienware voided it. So we were screwed out of $400.

The power supply that came with the computer went out about nine months later. As with everything else in the UK, I was charged a ridiculous amount of money to get it replaced. I could've done it myself with some patience, but that's not the point. The point is that a power supply shouldn't fail within a year. The system was still within the warranty.. but it would've been two and a half months before I would see the computer again.

Another prob, although it really doesn't matter, is that the lights on the front of the case went out.

Owning an Alienware is mostly an ego thing nowadays.. I mean their quality seems to have deteriorated down to Dell or Compaq's levels. Geeks are always like "OMFG! you own an Alienware?".. and I'm like.. "yeah.. unfortunately"

I have no problem with alienware either. It did take a while to get things straight but thats because my order accptance deal got lost in the mail, so it took about an axtra week. Other than that customer service was very helpful. And the rig i had build is definatly worth it.

The customer service is the UNRIVALED!        (in my opinion)

It's the company's best feature!

Surprise surprise, another problem with Alienware. I bought a rig from them, and they charged me $1000 more than it should have been. I cancelled it, and they sent it anways. And the clown renovating our house signed for the package so we had to pay the $600 to get it sent back. And they didnt send all my money back they said there was a "restocking fee" but since we didnt open it they said there would be no fee. But every time we called they said we had to pay the fee and we had to correct them. In total I lost $800 to them and no computer. Fuckers... NEVER buy Alienware.

My mate got a 3500 euro Alienware laptop, and has had nothing bu problems with it. It started out where it just turned off after playing on it for half an hour. This got worse and worse, until almost as soon as you started it up it would die. It was sent into Alienware, for ages, I  can't remember how long. He got it back, installed BF2, played for a bit, and BANG! it started doing it again. After spending an hour on the phone with their support staff,  doing a few things to try to get it too boot (which it stopped doing after a while) he had to send it in again.

Before this happend I got the impression that the reason Alienware charged so much, was because of the high quality of their computers. I now think that it's infact to cover all the costs of posting it back and forth, and having to pay the repair people to fix the damn things.
