I'm just curious because I've always heard that it's dangerous yet I've seen a lot of people do this lately.

why would you leave your car running?

isnt that just screaming "steal me when my owner is paying"

I juggle burning sticks when I get gas. You know, for practice.

I asked this question because I've seen it the last two times I've filled up my tank.  I'm assuming they did it to keep the air conditioning running on a very hot and humid day.

I'm just wondering how dangerous it really is.  Then there's the cell phone danger as well.

its fucking stupid.

combustion engines.

combustion means fire.

fire + gas = more fire.

more fire + concentrated large amounts of gas = explosions.

explosions = death

answer your question?

I wouldn't ever leave it running anyways, but I need a key to open the gas tank.

Only when my 8-year old is pumping, while she smokes with me.

When I was in High School there was a mentally changlended(spl I know) person who worked at a gas station. And I literally saw him trying to get the pump in the car with a cig hanging out of his mouth about 4 inches from the hole, nothing happened so I guess it's safe to do.

The only time it's NOT a good idea is if your tank is if you're almost out of gas (which is most everytime you get gas) because you get air bubbles in your fuel line. Other than that, it really doesn't matter. Cell phones are what you don't want to be talking on if you're  pumping gas. they are teh sparky

most servos here wont start the bowser if they know your car is running.

it used to suck when i had my turbo car, the turbo timer would need to run for 5 mins as it was a massive truck turbo and it took that long to get oil back into it. plus i had a plastic fuel cell in the boot and had to pop the boot lid to fuel up, so they would always get the shits as your spose to take jerry cans out of your car to fill them up.

ahh the joys of modified cars.

I had a client who had very little gas in his car(it was sitting), and the whole car filled with fummes, and when he opened the door to get some tools the thing blew up and all the flames went out the door right into him.
