No.

Religion is gay, video games aren't.

Don't mix gay with not gay.

I thought this thread was lost in the annals of post history. Oh well...I see no more harm in a religious game than I do in Doom. People are smart enough to decide what's best for themselves.

And for some replies:

Religion is also useful in rationalizing the difficult things in life that people often have a difficult time dealing with emotionally -- eg, "Why did billy have to die! Why God why!" ... "God has a plan" (Actually, joe-murderer has a fucking .44, stupid shit...)

Back on topic, if people came prostelatizing (er, evangelising) on my server? Perma banned. We're here to kill, maim, and pillage. Not love one another as brothers and sisters in God's good graces. (And to you christian server owners [it's always a christian server that does this] who dissallow swearing -- i hate you. So much. Arg. Wargame, arg!)

I turned my back on "God" 20 years ago when I started studying science.  I'm an athiest because I don't see any "proof" that there is a greater being.
My biggest beef with religion is that it's used by people to excuse acts of evil and nature. 'God arranging disease and decay because he 'misses' Timmy and Jill so much.' 'That gay guy died because God hates gays.' That shit. 'New Orleans wiped out because it was sinful.' Etc.

But as for preaching on this forum, I view atheist evidence as only so much more religious material. While I readily accept science's lack of proof of a deity, I retain an open enough mind to accept the possibility that, knowing the history of it, science is not in possession of all facts and detail and, when it thinks it knows something, is not always correct.  Therefore, science does reek of at least a small element of faith. Even if there is no God in a mystical sense, technology is capable of, provided the species survives, advancing a culture to 'godlike' status in comparison to our own capabilities. What would a race be like that has surpassed the upper limits of the Kardashev scale?

On swearing, there are plenty of non-Christian ones that kick/ban for profanity, and I find those equally annoying. But I have to laugh servers called "Christian Gamers" or "Knights of Gawd" that are cram-packed full of angered, violent, rabid (but clean-mouthed) bright'n'shinies fragging eachother.

I don't know if its a good idea or not.. but there's nothing written in the Constitution that states anything about the separation of church and video games..

To me it's kinda weird for a religious clan to be interested in a war game.. specifically a first-person shooter like Battlefield 2.

Hmm.. your third grade vocabulary is impressive.

Oh and on the subject of profanity.. I've been kicked for saying "idiot" on a "non-Christian" server.
