Bubbalo, he lives here, you live in Australia. Don't you think he would know? And I have to agree with Horseman.Bubbalo wrote:

What do you know about the USA and New Jersey in particular? I did live there.
You need a place to stay and have no money?
You get one. Programs abound. Sorry. No need to start insulting !

Complete ignorance. How would you fucking know unless you've actually been homeless. Or unless you're a college professor on economics.kr@cker wrote:

I FUCKING KNOW because I've been homeless, floating from one friend's house to another, it was my choice, now I'm making a salary well above average for my age, and that is also my choice, cumsock.
no one puts a gun up to anyone's head and says "fail @ teh life", even the worst off have the opportunity to better themselves, those that are mentally ill (my experience volunteering has shown this to be mostly due to substance abuse, another choice) have access to assistance
and college professors are cockhats that got their diplomas from years of ass-kissing and just use the classroom as a bully pulpit in which to bludgeon their stoned-ass pupils with their ideology

And you don't get promoted in a company from years of ass kissing?
College professors are cockhats, eh? Well, some of them are. You seem to think that education is one giant liberal conspiracy

I don't really know what that statement is supposed to mean but, I do know that no person in the United States of America is homeless because there isn't enough houses for the number of people.Bubbalo wrote:

College professors are about as conservative as Hollywood actors. Few and far between.Spearhead wrote:

And that doesn't tell you something?
kr@cker: The fact that it was a choice for you doesn't mean it's a choice for others. And we aren't talking about people who stay at friends houses, we're talking about real homeless people, the ones whose friends don't have homes, either.

Some of us get paid according to our skill and abilities, you should try it sometime.
Look who associated "ass kissing", "bully", and "cockhats" with "liberal", funny since I didn't mention it, and yes I was regularly issued worse grades than a girl that was sitting next to me in a class whose papers were written with the comprehension of a fifth grader and even worse spelling, meanwhile I was editing papers for submission by friends in the journalism dept that rarely were edited at the respective publications, I suppose it's just co-incidence that the professor often singled me out in class, attempted to disparage my conservative opinions, and eventually quit acknowledging me after I handed him his ass on a regular basis. This kind of thing happened alot, though to my lib High School teachers' credit, they didn't take it out on me at grading time like the college prof's did. We (my lib HS teachers and I) were actually quite friendly, but my refusal to kiss ass and play office politics led to me quitting college and my last job. I'd rather starve than whore myself, though that may change if one day I have a dependent.
edit: if i hadn't had friends (I chose who my friends were, btw) who helped me out, I would have been at a shelter, what's the fucking difference?

I'm happy too. I'm sure there are plenty of jobless people who'd be happy to as well. Y'Know, if they could get a job. Minor detail.kr@cker wrote:

When was the last time you referred to someone on these forums with insults and they weren't Liberal in your eyes?kr@cker wrote:

1* if they had skill and ability, they could get a job, at one point, when I chose to no longer be homeless, I had 3
2* assumption
3* just the lib professors apparently

You had the luxury of having a roof to sleep under, and at least a basic education. You probably also came from above the bottom rung of the socio-economic ladder.kr@cker wrote:

Pattern recognition. You have a pattern of characterising Liberals as everything bad under the sun, and Conservatives as God's Chosen.kr@cker wrote:

But I thought all professors were cockheads? Besides which, have you ever been a Liberal student in a Conservative professors class?kr@cker wrote:

You could make a contribution to the ongoing discussion about that statement.
1* we have homeless shelters with empty bunks, and homeless people on the streets, another choice
2* assumption, show me where I called every person I disagree with a lib, I've made over 100 posts, get busy, all libs are cockhats, but not all cockhats are liberals, if you did not mean that I called everyone I referred to with insults, change the wording of your initial statement
3* I never said there were any conservative professors, I'm sure there are some, and they are probably cockhats as they are professors, in case you can't tell, I don't much care for the university system

Does anyone really believe that people are homeless because there is not a sufficient "home to person Ratio " ? Realy?JG1567JG wrote:

Basically the whole Homeless issue was created in 1990 to discredited the G.H.Bush administration.
In 1992 when clinton was elected, it was never a topic in the media again. until 2000
When I worked for the NY Telephone Company, NYC Human Resources was one of my accounts.
They provided Temporary and full time shelters ( its cold outside? You just walk in. A shower a bed are available as are scheduled meals ) all throughout the Area. The next night You merely had to walk back in.
If you need longer term housing and you have to limited income and you are given housing. Some people have been in the same public housing for generations.
Whereas the " Boat People " who came here to flee the North Vietnams Communist purges in the 1970s were never homeless nor did they require public housing for generations, Why? Because they didn't choose to.
If you decided to pickle you brain with alcohol or smoke crack until you crap in your pants and fall asleep in the street it is your choice.
It has nothing to do with being " on the bottom rung of the Socioeconomic ladder " In fact everything in our system caters to those in that category. They are given the first options on new housing Rents with options to buy etc. If an investment group wants to build housing they must build a certain percentage for low income etc.
The list is endless and I know that because I lived there .
Not to mention any four people who are employed at Mc Donald's could become room mates and easily afford a very livable place almost anywhere with the exception of Beverly Hills perhaps
Not to mention the Fact that in Jersey City (1 stop on the PATH Train From NYC ) Rents where 1/5 the price of Manhattans. I know because I lived there . In some cases as low as 425/month You can make that much collecting deposit cans.
Some people are simply insane, these people were commonly institutionalized until the ACLU made it illegal to help them. In this case it was the ACLU's Choice.

Id rather have them starve as well then become part of that system...
But my children will have loving extended family and I know they will never be without...
I did as well; I came from private schools and living in a luxury apartment building on 5th Avenue in Manhattan to Public schools under the 7 train in Queens...Bubbalo wrote:

I knew, associated and had friends that were from "the bottom rung of the socio-economic ladder"...
Basically all of them were...
We lost our house in Manhattan and in Queens actually, but those were direct repercussions of "Choices" my parents made...
In the USA Homelessness is a "Choice" for at least 90% or more of the Homeless population...
In the USA you are told from a child you MUST do THIS, you MUST do THAT or you will not be able to support yourself when you get older...
If you dont CONFORM, its your "Choice"...
Oh and Ill confirm what Horseman 77 said above me...
Sounds just about rite...

owned again! Case 56
So much for the news on New Jersey.
Horseman you must of lived in JC a long time ago, because you can't pay 425/month in rent anywhere is JC.
My thread has been offically hijacked so I am going to stay off topic.
My thought on why the situation in the U.S. is getting worse, as in what use to be good jobs getting thrown away for shitty coruporate jobs. Bottom line is that alot of small business which you use to be able to make a decent living doing have been thrown away by convenience. Where you use to have 10 family own resturants now you have 10 corpurately owned ones. Where a cook use to be able to make 30-50k a year cooking at a decent place, he now makes 10 dollars an hour microwaving food. And this breaks down into just about every retail business out there.
Oh and if your living in a shelter it's not really a home, you can't leave your stuff there or it will get stolen. It's more like a military barraks then a home, and I know, one of my really good friends works at the one that's in the same building as CBGB's/
