I am sorry, but I have to vent a little.

President Bush visited Columbus, Ohio yesterday, and as always, he arrived on Air Force One. I was walking into the supermarket by my house, which is right underneath the approach path for 28L. I looked up and to my amazement was Air Force One right over my head. Some kid who was working his summer job was collecting shopping carts in the parking lot. He looks at me and says, "What are you looking at dude?" I said " Air Force One." And I swear to God he said " What is Air Force One?" I asked him if he was joking and he gave me a dirty look and said no. Right then and there I wanted to punch him right in the throat, but I didn't because jail sucks. I imagine people in other countries would recognize Air Force One, yet this little punk has no idea. Truly amazing.

I too encounter things such as this, indeed it is truly amazing. Peeps in other countries are excused if they dont recognize the bird on sight, no American can be. I mean, ...watch the news occasionally, listen in school, watch the learning channel for crying out loud...

In my line of work, I encounter many classes in our society from the very waelthy, to the various grades of middle class, no difference, money or the lack thereof doesnt beget intelligence, nor common sense. So you cant even hang this poor guy because he's got a small job and such. Americans like this are scaring me for the future of our country.

Yeah, a lot of Americans are pretty ignorant nowadays. I don't see why you "wanted to punch him in the throat" though. It's like, Air Force One. The jet of the President. Woot. If someone said they didn't know what it was, I would probably just sigh and shake my head. I've encountered plenty of people that have said stupid stuff like, "Isn't Kenya right here?" And they're pointing at South America.
