Two points:

1)  That would have led blacks to believe that they were the problem

2)  You assume that the community they weren't part of weren't and/or didn't appear to be discriminating against them.  Besides, if other people have the problem, why should they change their image?

just seeing the victims and the way it was until the final moments, was just so saddening...

I don't think the reenactment could have been any more hollywooded up...just awful.  There are a few companies here in California that sponsor live "reenactments" for school awareness.  A bunch of students are picked to be extras in it (plus we got government class credit for participating) and a few are chosen to be victims, and the rest are just supposed to react as well as they can.  Trained actors fill in as the gunmen, and a few others are plants in the student extra groups to kind of "lead" them.  It's really interesting live, especially when you begin to understand the danger and horror that you are going through...but the way this particular instance was set up in the video was just really bad...

Oh great, so if I tortue someone for a few years and they then decide to cut me apart with a hacksaw it's no different to if I walk down the street and cut someone apart with a hacksaw for the fun of it.

Yes, free will exists, but to use it to absolve the society in which they lived of all responsibility is foolish.
