For sheer power and military mite, it's got to be the US, however for a skill basis I'd have to say the British Army... Now I know I'm 15 and all so the only experience of the military I've really had is as part of the CCF, but the training we had was as good as I think it could of been, it wasn't all just crawling around, we had a form of VR trainig (targets on a massive projector screen with a full auto SA80 a bigger version of the L8, memories of dolphin diving came bac )

ok the U.S. military is the best trained and equiped in the world....in california the military owns a ass load of land that they use for practice or training wars......divisions of troops fight a army of other U.S. troops with tanks and arty and planes, their are fake citys like mout town at 29 palms the marnies use for urban fighting and a lot of other stuff the operation red flag for the air force and top gun for the navy fighters....the United States has the most high tech, best trainied, and equipeted military in the world, i really can't see how people say the U.S. military is not well trained...wtf... the U.S. is a military superpower...for exaple it costs around a couple million or billions to train a navy seal
iT all depends on the circumstances, THe Swiss have the most highly trained defensive military on the planet, for god sakes they can shoot you dead on skis!!

No army today could stand up to the United States military, and sheer numbers doesn't mean shit.....we defeated the Iraqi army in a matter of weeks with under 100 causalities( and casualties doesn't mean death it means that and getting shot) and the Iraq Military was around the 3 or 5 largest or something but the were in the top 8

I cant believe how many people have voted U.S army (I guessing they were all Americans). The British army is by far the best TRAINED army in the world (that was the question). The U.S army is best equipped without a doubt, and the IDF has best modern battlefield experience. But without a doubt the British Army is the best trained army in teh world simple...

Did you know that the majority of soldiers during world war 2 and during the korean war (not sure on Vietnam, training may have changed at that point) that they purposefully missed? (either consciously or subconsciously)
Ever wonder why nowadays on firing ranges troops shoot at human shaped targets?
People from their birth are told that killing etc is wrong. Military training during the first half of the twentieth century involved shooting at typically circular targets like all normal shooting ranges, this didn't prepare people psychologically for the realisation that they have to kill people. So, when it came to actually shooting some people simply fired but missed on purpose.
This is why modern military training emphasises heavilly on tricking people into killing, to sort of bypass their moral centers and make it almost instinct to kill without thinking of the consequences of their action. And this is why targets on military shooting ranges are human shaped.
Unfortunately todays military are only now starting to see the downsides to this in greater numbers of post traumatic stress for people who have killed but never had the psychological preparation of the realisation that they have killed another human being.
This is from a program I watched on tv a while back which gave a fascinating insight on modern military training, from the trainers etc. Pity I can't remember the name of it.
By the way, this was true of all militaries.. British, American etc.

Now come on, leaving me neg karma for something that should be posted is just immature, but your point was in no way valid, the Seals would be dominated by the SAS, the Seals are mainly associated with Comabt, where as the SAS serve in not only combat but in protection, secruity, and "apprently" assisations.
Secondly the Seals are a direct part of the US army, so have to conform to US army regulations and standards, where as the SAS are technically a mercinary group, they do not have to conform to EU/British regulations under extreme circumstances and are accountable to no-one, although they do take orders from the British goverment.
