I'm sorry, I must have fallen asleep midway through the 10 Commandments. I didn't realize the message was "Thou shalt not kill (except during warfare)" Is there a caveat for committing adultery too, like "Thou shalt not commit adultery except in Amsterdam"?Colfax wrote:
I think God needs to be left out of this discussion. Simple as that. I'm no bible scholar but I'm sure killing someone in war is not violating that commandment.

This should solve the "Thou shalt not kill" issue we got going on here.
"Thou shalt not murder"
Killing an INNOCENT human being is a capital sin.
Criminals aren't innocent and in war someone holding a gun and shooting at you is not innocent.

I forget what passage it is in but, the bible does say that the government can kill people. (Criminals)
kinda like we don't know where the passage is located that says you can't fire off a few knuckle children in the privacy of your neighbor's living room because i don't have a dvd player... i don't know where it says that because the bible is way too long

Actually, the direct translation is "you no kill". That is how it was written many moons ago. We (the people who later translated it into english and other languages) interpreted it as "thou shalt not kill." So no, I would have to disagree with you on this oneColfax wrote:

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I in no way, shape, or form support war. That being said, no, I don't condemn every military person in all of history. I don't see how you could jump to that conclusion based on what you quoted me on.

why dont you give them local anesthetic around the neack area, then chop their head of with a guilotine, it is 100%, practically no pain, you could even, put them on sleeping pills then do it then they wouldnt even be aware of it.
But i think that trials involving death penalties should be alot more thorough and only given to those that it is definate that they are guilty of the crime.
