- My A10 guide
I edited your image and put in where I thought the box is.
What do you think?
What do you think?
it really all depends on the angle... i think its right in the middle of where both of u think it is... but im a shit bomber anyways... i did however just go 38-0 with the a10
The BF1942 veterans should kick some serious ass with the A-10,it's basically like the Stuka in BF1942 with another skin,if you got good high level bombing down you should pwn the map.
Dogfighting with the new planes is exactly like it was in BF1942.

Okay to clear up any misconseptions the MG on the A10 does damage to tanks but not really high damage I think it would make a little more sense to drop all 4 bombs on it and it will destroy the tank. So it is kind of worthless to have 2 payloads of bombs when you only use one you should use both and go get refueled.
Also your dad if you come down at a 45 degree angle it is where I spesified but its all about personal prefrence.

The mg does about the same damage as the normal jets, maybe a little bit more but also with wider splash damage. I've found with the new jets the bombs seem to hit harder so if you can get them both to hit in almost the same spot you can kill a full health tank in one sweep with two bombs. The trick is to approach and drop at an angle. The problem with this is the maneuverability of the jet. I found myself having to avoid trees especially in midnight sun when strafing. And having an aa at every base doesn't help you out either. Basically you spend most of the round killing aa trying to save your own ass. Unless you have a dominant team.
I disagree with unloading all four in one pass. Better to be accurate with two then gain altitude and swoop back down, unless you're attacking an aa then run away, the flares only help half the time. The main gun really is devastating tho if you get everyone trapped at one base you can strafe with the main gun rack up the kills hitting spawn points.

I myself drop all 4 at once, i did drop 2 but they would always get out and run away before i came back so i just dropped all 4 unless i can see there smoking white or black i will drop 4
EDIT : thanks to the guy for -1 because i said something about the original post which he then edited, i'd like that +1 back please

All of the jets have different flight characteristics.
The a10 is the most manerverable of the bunch.
The Su-35 likes to go up, left, right, and thats it. To get the nose down requires you to pretty much completely reverse throttle and then it takes some time to make that change. I have found it easiest to approach a target high but to get the nose pointed back down I roll half way to the right and use the rudder to steer the nose down and then level it out. Or ill do a half barrel roll like in the movies and then level out while approaching my target.
I made some pretty sweet runs with that jet and I think it is my favorite so far.
The FQ5 is a really nice jet, the machine gun on it hits pretty hard but the fire rate is slow so its hard to draw a bead on a target.
It has great manuverability but turns slightly slower than the a10 and thats probably mostly due to the fact it looks like a hot dog with little wings on the side of it.
I really cannot wait to post my video for you guys to watch.

.
I wish the jets that didnt have turbines at least had a short after burn boost to catch up to that tight ass turning radius the damned a10 has.
If these cock suckers make anymore expansions they better be for special forces and they better include some godamned jets.

I have made an update please read it by the guide.
It has been updated with a video thanks CSI
Bah! Hogwash! Like to see some of you flyboys on the ground to see how good you really are. Its really hard to get into aircraft nowadays. BF2 was supposed to be and all around game, it has now turned into a flight sim for most if not all. There are 31 guys lined up for the plane at any given time. Dropping bombs are easy, hell if you miss you can always go back and reload. Something I've learned when I can finally get into aircraft without being tk'd - is that its best have your controls set up where you have a "6" view as your immediate key then back to the "12" in a quick button push.
Im not sure I agree that the Littlebird is poor compared to the A10. Ive taken out a few a10's with the scout choppers. Aside from the obvious disadvantage of not being able to hurt armour. Its a brilliant vehicle.
Whoever just gave me negative karma saying that I didnt shoot down an A10 with a scout chopper, obviously isnt a very good helicopter pilot & subsequently loses at life.

My suggestion is to attack from the clouds, if you are not atacking, use the fog as cover and make attacks from the east and west not the north and south, the AA is less likely to pick you up before the kills. As you start your approach, hit the stationary AA with the minigun, easy kill and allows you to use your bombs on the Mobile AA that is probably close by. After your attack run, use the ground as cover to break any AA locks, head for the sides and use the water on Road Rage. If you can get the water and get low, most AA will not be able to track you. Once you get a safe distance climb back to the fog for your next run or to return for more ammo. I don't fly much but have found the A10 to be much easier to operate on RR than the J10 on Wake.
If you are going to go for AA on the highway be prepared to do a double drop. Aim for the first guy in the line and hit him and the second guy, the armor almost always travels in single file lines on the highways instead of using the grass. Usually the AA will be the second or third guy in line so make sure you come in steap on the first traget so the AA does not have time to pick you up.
Have fun and try not to TK for the A10

A few tips to add for the bombers.
1. the MG's do not hit dead center, they hit somewhere around 6 o'clock on the circular reticule, dogfighting is simple once you figure this out. I took out two little birds in a row within one pass across road rage last night... didn't miss a shot.
2. When you have AA lock its better to dive low and flare than to climb. If you get hit its usually minor damage, and more like a spank on the ass for flying sloppy. Most times they'll lose you in the trees.
3. On road rage you can almost fully repair your Bombers health from red-zone in two passes of the airfield by flying in-between the two takeoff fields and hangers. (If MEC and flying SU, make sure to pass over helipads for bonus repair)
4. Now I disagree with what a previous poster said about not firing MG's at tanks, sure it does little damage... but it does just enough so they cant run away from their burning tank after you bomb it.
5. I do agree on this though. NEVER FIRE MG's at AA!!! Dive in from 250m and Drop all four, than get the @#% out.
6. Check your six

thanks to KnowMeByTrailOfDead and Twinn for the information I have updated it into the guide.
TY this really helped me
I highly disagree with not shooting the AA with guns.
The AA vehicles are the softest armored vehicles in the game. Shooting them on the bombing run only guarantees that you will kill them. The guns on all planes will tear the AA vehicle up pretty bad.
As for pulling up and flaring that maybe works half the time. Your better off flaring and diving to the deck and flying behind cover. Road rage is a perfect example. On either side of the map you can skim the water and be below ground level where you cannot be seen by AA. Map of the earth is the way to go.
Also dont fly up and down the highway. The guys in the AA naturally point it straight up the road in the general direction of the airfields. Fly up and cross the map. You end up blind siding them.
As for dogfighting with the chinese or mec pieces of shit its easy.
If the SU39 is on you pull into a vertical loop then as the idiot behind you starts to follow push the nose over into a negative G loop. The SU39 is not capable of anything negative G.
If the chinese Q5 is on you simply out turn it or dive toward the ground and pull out at the last second. Usually the noob behind you will follow you into the dive and by the time he realizes that the Q5 does not pull out of a dive worth a shit its too late and hes a part of the terrain.
