I posted this in another forum I frequent, and since people liked it I decided to spread the joy to my friends at BF2s as well!

Thank god for summer. It equals no rain, no school and plenty of things to do.

And really hot temperatures!

Where I live, it's even really hot at night. Last night I was trying to get to sleep, and I couldn't because it was really really hot. I was sleeping next to a window (as you'll see) but the airflow was almost non existant and it hardly made a difference.

So, at three in the morning, I scavenged around the house and garage (albeit very quietly with a tiny flashlight) and found what I needed. A thin down comforter and a table fan.

So, with a little bit of McGyver inspiration I came up with this. (I know the curtain sucks; my mom picked it up )

^From the outside, you can see the fan on the right.^

^From the inside. Quite spacious actually.^

So you crawl in, turn the fan on and *PHWOOMPH!* Instant air circulation.

The air blows in, and then out the side into the room. The head of it flutters a bit and I'm working on fixing that but it still works and it's actually pretty comfortable.

Thoughts? Outside of the fact that it's wierd, I already warned you about that.

Except when you wake up in the middle of the night, forget the fan, sit up too fast and get your hair caught.

Great until the fan catches the quilt on fire when you are asleep....

It is as big as it looks in that picture. There's about a foot of headroom and you'll be reminded of the fan pretty quick because you've got a fan three inches from your face if you move up at all. But ofcourse, there is a guard on it

It's still possible to sleep like it; the fan doesn't make alot of noise.

no problem for me, i sometimes sleep with my pc on at night (one time i was torture testing the gfx - a stock 1900xt fan on 100% is pretty loud, i can tell you). I wouldnt wake up if a 747 was taking off right next to me.

and to the actual post: sweet idea, but i've just gone to sleeping without a blanket in just my boxers (but then switzerland is not as hot as sothern california, only gets to 95F max. here)

+1

EDIT: and how do you keep the blanket up? is it just the air blowing in, or did you jury rig something?

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
